Why do all Asians ( East Asians , Indians , Arabs etc..) all have the same mindset about their child鈥檚 future career ?

1- doctor 2- engineer/lawyer 3- disgrace to the family

Some Indian parents sued their son and daughter in law, for being married six years and not giving them a grandchild lol

@Viper wtf for real 馃槀
ViperM
@Moon3624 yup for real, see the link... they want $650,000 (拢525,000) if their son doesn't have a child within a year.

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-61424869

Though it does look like the parents paid for a lot, including buying him pilot lessons so he could become a pilot, and took care of him for two years when he was jobless, bought cars for him and his daughter in law, and even arranged the marriage and paid for the wedding and honeymoon. They have done a lot for that kid! And now after six years of their son being marriage, they just want a grandchild to play with, but they have no plans of having a child.

Also, I read in a different article, that while rare, they might actually have a claim under Indian law, which basically states that children have to take care of their parents and grandparents. While the court can't force them to have a child, it could potentially say the child owe the parents money for them to take care of themselves as they age.

@Viper sheesh
Are u Indian ?
ViperM
@Moon3624 nope, why?
@Viper That鈥檚 the next type of lawsuits I expect to see in our southern states.
@bijouxbroussard Aren't the states progressing some? (I say that knowing recent turn of events)
@thewindupbirdchronicles Lol If anything they鈥檙e regressing faster than the speed of sound. Every day some new draconian law is introduced. 馃槼
@bijouxbroussard Maybe I'm being hopeful/optimistic.... but truthfully I don't follow politics in the US that deeply, so I'll trust you.
@thewindupbirdchronicles I鈥檓 glad I don鈥檛 live in the south, but I still have family members who do.
@bijouxbroussard In a way you do, California... but it's not known as the deep states. And California has always been a progressive outlier. There is only two states when I think of Canada and philosophy in value that come to mind, New York and California...
@thewindupbirdchronicles But not in the southern U.S. states where things seem to be regressing. My parents were originally from Louisiana, which as a state is a paradox like few others.
@bijouxbroussard I understand your concern and see them... also some paradoxes. Louisiana, if you take in New Orleans, likely has very progressive thought (has it changed since Katrina?) My understanding in the way New Orleans is being rebuilt, some cultures are being pushed out), but that is one city on it's own and I don't know the culture of it entirely. Is that the paradox you find?

An outside perspective, I see the US heading for a civil war.
@thewindupbirdchronicles Precisely. My parents were both born and raised in New Orleans and by U.S. standards are very liberal progressive. So are most of the relatives who remain there. But Louisiana the state is a product of the Deep South.
@bijouxbroussard I'd like to know what that culture was; to me it showed itself as very diverse, even though seated with colonial attitudes before. Yet I feel culture broke out and took over. It's my impression from afar.

@thewindupbirdchronicles from my understanding of America Politics History, we're like an accordion being played, always either getting more extreme or coming closer together, but never staying still. Obviously it's been going more extreme lately...

And history can't tell us what will happen with modern and instant social media, which I feel like has changed things, and gotten some to want internet troll types as politicians for the entertainment value p!ssing off the other side.

It's my hopeful/optimistic that it will bounce back and become more central and less extreme, though I don't expect that to happen before 2026 at earliest and maybe should say 2030.

Also I think it's important to point out, that despite all the hate for the opposite side, it should be noted that the two parties do seem to work together to keep the parties in power and not let politicians be individuals or get too far from party lines.
