Is there such a thing as your real self or does your self change as time passes and given the circumstances you are in?

I think about that when I hear people say they are trying to figure there self out and find out who they are.

I think I’m a person who changes with each different situation. Yet some people say I knew you were going to do that. That confuses me. Because I thought I even was surprised that I did that.

I know it’s hard to follow my reply.
