What do you know about Ham Radio?

I had a tech plus license and used mainly the 2 meter band which had fairly limited range.

I was thinking of the ham operators that are the backbone during emergencies when the interwebs aren't available.

had a couple of friends that would get on the 10 meter band and spoke to people all over the world.

@ProfessorPlum77 it gets progressively more difficult when you get the more technical license.

there are ham groups that are affiliated with the ARRL (in the US anyway) that are very helpful.
you can google ARRL and find groups that meet every couple of months and I think even teach pre-test classes.

All the questions are readily available online - and practice tests too.

haven't checked the prices - you can buy 2 meter handhelds for 40 or 50 bucks - but you can't use them until you get your "ticket" (license)
