They are just with words with different meanings, and while no can know for sure what another person (or any being) is feeling...they can imagine with an intensity that hurts their heart.

Empathy isn't exactly a new age concept. The first known use of the word dates back to 1909.

The English word empathy is derived from the Ancient Greek word ἐμπάθεια, which transliterates as empatheia in the Roman alphabet. Sure, its definition may have evolved, but it's origins are ancient.
The word is about as "new-age" as Aristotle.

It's not better, the two words exist because they have different meanings. Saying the formed doesn't exist is wild, maybe it didn't for him

@Therealsteve
For me it's cringe when one doesn't understand what a thing is and automatically labels "cringe" and becomes vitriolic to those who experience it. If you truly care about "divisiveness" I'd start working on that hostile behavior firsthand.
I wouldn't be able to know exactly what others are feeling
As I said, that's yours and Kirk's limitation. As Elwood says the concept is at least as old as ancient Greece. For me it's cringe when one doesn't understand what a thing is and automatically labels "cringe" and becomes vitriolic to those who experience it. If you truly care about "divisiveness" I'd start working on that hostile behavior firsthand.

@Elessar What is cringe is trying to argue with an English teacher over the definition of words, due to being so ideologically possessed that you can't even accept basic, fundamental definitions. And also to try and even so much as hint at someone challenging the things you spew to try to justify what happened to Charlie is "hostile" is despicable. Good day.

@Therealsteve Words that aren't even English, and were just ripped off from Latin/Greek like 75% of the language.
Basic, fundamental definitions that were coined ~3000 years ago and that only you (plural) woke up one day and decided they're no longer good because you allegedly can experience only one?

The full quote is a sickening as the partial one.
