Serious question 🙋‍♀

Why do people in relationships have the urge to cheat ?Or what’s the logic behind extra maritals ??

I have heard ppl say one person can’t give everything. So they need multiple partners .

Assuming if its really the truth ,then the old days when polygamy was allowed, people must have been more happy .Having said that ,
if they cheat or looking for extra fun repeatedly ,then maybe its wired in to our DNA ?HAVE you tried thinking from this angle ?

Why don’t the present society encourage that ?
Maybe that would end the crimes against women like rape ?
If a women can have atleast 2 partners and a man too can have atleast 2 partners legally ,

WE can have a happy society.🙄😐🫪

Because they want to, because they can, and because they don't think they will get caught.

I think the simple answer is we all enjoy variety and something new occasionally...
Sexual crimes against women wouldn't end because they are usually about power, control and hatred. Rarely are they ever about the constraints of a relationship, certainly when the victim is outside of that relationship.

People cheat because of self esteem and ego, because they are susceptible to both. They cannot walk away from a certain kind of attention and validation. They may also be starved of certain things that they feel they need and feel too tied by responsibility and obligation to take the more honourable route. Or inversely they can be entirely free and able to take the more honourable route and they just lack the courage and decency to do so. There are of course the sex addicts but they are more of a rarity. Most people are not that.

I think everyone has their own reasons - or not much reason at all. Lonely? Bored? Unappreciated? Horny with options? I guess those are covered with the explanation you give above

For the married-and-settled: The shock of being told face-to-face by another, that you are wanted.
