I’m just curious, has owning a gun ever actually protected you or is more of just a peace of mind

@SweetNSassy as of yet mine hasn’t been stolen. Nor my dad’s for that matter. And our guns haven’t had a mind of their own and gone out and done shooting massacres

@SW-User I know I’m not saying that exactly, but if you think of all those school shootings most of those freaks used their parents gun and then clearly that guy at the spa shooting has some mental issues he even looks like a mental case and I’m just saying if their parents didn’t have a gun then a lot of people would still be here and you even said your guns have never protected you as of yet

and with the movements of defunding police, even lesser protection
But, those parents that had the guns taken by the child that performed those horrid acts, weren’t very responsible in keeping the guns locked up and safe

@SweetNSassy Children and idiots who use guns for the wrong purposes are those that have never been taught proper use and handling of firearms or just plain psycho. We will never get rid of the psychos and it is getting worse due to the liberals / socialists / LGBTs that are anti-gun. If a person or family with children have guns in the house then it is the adult owners to take the kids out hunting / target shooting and show the kids the damage a gun can do, how to handle them properly and that they are not toys. We have kids playing violent video games that are getting brainwashed by that crap and desensitized by it. Parents use the video games as electronic baby sitters and to occupy the teens so they do not interrupt the parent(s) time. This has to stop as we are creating little monsters.

@SweetNSassy also another component that we NEVER hear about the government addressing or having policies or legislation to get control of.
The weapons/firearms underground markets... and they are huge and plentiful. So if mom and dad doesn’t have a gun for their revenge seeking kid to take, I can assure you the kid will know someone that has connections to and underground market supplier.

@SweetNSassy No they are not. Hell more people are killed by vehicular crashes every year than gun violence! So do we ban cars too! Deal with the criminal not the legal citizen!

@SweetNSassy If people that are nuts or hell bent on killing others they do not need guns all they need is a pressure cooker, turf builder and diesel fuel, damage a natural gas pipe, derail a train, drive a large truck, poison a water supply..............doing these things and / or others would kill far more people in a very short time than any gun. Any one that thinks that removing guns is going to reduce murder and mayhem have their heads buried deeply up their ass. There are much better ways of killing large numbers of people but stupid does not wee that.

@acpguy Shit drugs are illegal and folks get and use them. So would be the world of guns if outlawed/banned. Only the people who want them for illegal reason will have them. I have never seen a fence or boarder guards or law enforcement to slow the flow of drugs into the US, why would illegal guns be any different? Sure token seizures would happen, and token they would be!

@SweetNSassy No, as a smart person you keep the gun on you and all of them secure. Only a dumb ass has a gun stolen unless someone has a gun on you before you can get at your's.

@acpguy I wouldn’t say all that, it’s just I happen to know more people that are a victim, from like having their gun stolen from their work trucks, rather then preventing a crime. When I asked this question I was just genuinely curious if anyone had ever used their gun for self protection.

@SweetNSassy If you use your reading skills you would notice I stated "Only a dumb ass has a gun stolen" a person needs to keep the gun on their person or locked up securely so it does not get stolen. It is black and white, stupid people should not have guns.............period. It is simple and not rocket science just like letting your car run with keys in it unattended........stupid and many cars are stolen this way.
