It's easier to produce carbon monoxide by leaving the car running in the garage all night, than to sit up all night breathing to create carbon dioxide.

I guess if you have an electric car, then you'd have to go out and rent a gas lawnmower as a substitute I suppose...

@swirlie yes, those do produce a lot of CO, or a generator powered by gas.
