I watched an interview with Prince Harry…

I saw a video of his interview by Stephen Colbert (on whose show Harry received a hero’s welcome). He discussed the new book, his childhood, back to the day his father told him about the loss of his mother, his military service, and his relationship with the Royal family. Maybe if I lived in the UK I’d feel differently, but I enjoyed the interview and thought he came across as very likable. They showed a photo of him with his family. Harry commented that he said he didn’t really expect that their children would have red hair. "But those Spencer genes were strong ! Go gingers !”
Colbert and the audience chuckled.

They’re such an adorable couple…I’m glad he’s away from the toxicity and glad he spoke bout the truth. His truth. 🥰
@Vivaci The audience absolutely loved him, and cheered when he came in.
Really? I’m seeing if I can watch that on YT or Prime. 😀@bijouxbroussard
@Vivaci It’s on YouTube.
Nobody deserves to lose their mother so young, especially due to a tragic event. Royals or not it's not by choice rich poor whatever we are all the same.

Oh yeh i watched that too. Was a very relaxed interview. I liked they were having a drink as well.
The audience were great i dont think he expected to be welcomed in that way.
@Gangstress That was so cute when Colbert offered him a cocktail and Harry looked so surprised. With a big grin, he said, “oh, yes please !" 😊
I agree that he comes across as likeable and pretty innocent. It seems obvious that the firm controls a lot more than we ever realised…
I also get the hate though as someone growing up with the monarchy. They’ve shattered the illusion of the royal family.

@Notladylike as someone brought up in Britain and who is British. It was a conversation that should have happened years ago not because harry decided to be with a non white.
@Gangstress Absolutely. It has also exposed how racist the institution is. Or at least that is my read of it

People suck and i applaud him for walking away from the royalty to have a chance at a normal life.

It takes a lot of kudos and balls to leave all that behind so you have to admire that fact regardless of anything else..that alone is like WOW
@black4white Agreed.

The most human of all the royals I've seen.
You wouldn't feel differently if you lived in the UK because you wouldn't be one of the small minded folk who are trained to hate them and swallow whatever they are told by the hate media without chewing.
I like his ability to be honest and open,
and his fierce protection of Megan.
I think he's taken after his mother in both genotype and personality,
esp. w. his interests in justice and charity.

We were in the UK over christmas. He is Public Enemy No.1 over there now ..... and it's only going to get worse. 🙁
@LegendofPeza That he’s more hated than Andrew is mind-boggling. What’s worse than being associated with a notorious sex trafficker and pedophile ?

@bijouxbroussard' What’s worse than being associated with a notorious sex trafficker and pedophile ?'

In the British psyche ? ...... abdicating and running off with an American woman. 😲
Pfuzylogic · M
i like him.
He has his priorities straight.
When his wife and family are challenged.
He comes quick to their defense.
@Pfuzylogic Yes, I admire that as well.
Who’s his daddy though?
black4white · 56-60, M
@LilithoftheTrees Whose your Daddy? LMAO
@black4white I wish I knew…

What a nice family. But it must be tough not being the oldest son,
in line for the Crown.
@Dino11 I suspect Harry had hoped things might be a bit easier, without the pressure of being the heir.
Selah ·
Cute family. I find him charming and she's lovely/classy and smart.
@Selah Agreed.

I saw and enjoyed the interview, also.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
My immediate reaction is, "WHY???"
@ChipmunkErnie Clearly I don’t agree. I found him interesting and likable.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@bijouxbroussard Each to his/her own.
@ChipmunkErnie Indeed.
looks like a jeans commercial

People in the UK have a serious lack of sympathy and empathy. They have ideas about weakness and showing emotions. It is astounding that the people of the UK loved this man's mother but now treat him and his family like dirt.

Diana was a force to be reckoned with and her son is an apple that did not fall as far from the tree as his brother.
@JaggedLittlePill j don't think it is even that.

Diana was trashed by the press following the divorce and there were many against her.....until she died.

With Harry the real reason why he is getting so much hate now is that he accused the Press of racism. What you have now is all the press and all the people who originally agreed with the press coming down on every thing he is doing to prove that he is bad and they were not racist but right all along.

They will not stop and he won't either .... the only way it could have happened if Buck House had told the press to leave him alone
JaggedLittlePill · 46-50, F
@InOtterWords Diana was trashed by the presss but the people loved her.

He got hate from the press before he accused the press of racism. They always treated him poorly and like the "red headed step-child" ...always.

I am not arguing that the press is hellbent now because Harry and Meghan have spoken about their racism...I am saying that the people of the UK are fully on board with the hate for Harry and Meghan. They are like vultures.

One because they have alway, for some reason, disliked Harry. And also now because Harry married a woman that is not white.
@JaggedLittlePill
From memory people were divided about Diana until she died and then everyone said how much they loved her. It is as if history was re-written...but the press was constantly talking about her various boyfriends. They were grossly infatuated with her though.

Harry was, as a teenager a bit of a partygoer and was trashed by the tabloids, but then he started his charity work with Africa and he joined the army and he became a real favourite with everyone....until the press started attacking Meghan.

It will now be a perpetuating circle of hate which needs to be shut down by the King
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
I genuinely don't get the hate. Maybe we wait for the Brits to weigh in, lol.
Gangstress · 41-45, F
@LordShadowfire the media pushed the story when they met. An American wouldn't know how the press work alongside the royal family (meghan). Hence why that is controlled and hence why we dont hear anything about prince andrew. The narrative was also playing her off Kate the English rose.
There are also royslists. Who will stand and support them no matter what. And theres non royalists who still cant believe theres an monarchy. It is outdated.
Mainly its a race thing.
No one in the uk would have had a clue who Meghan was if it wasn't for Harry. She would not be known to us.
@InOtterWords @Gangstress And it’s almost amusing how furious they become when one even suggests that racism is a factor.
@bijouxbroussard this is why, universally, we will never solve racism because no-one will accept that they are racist, they will go to great lengths to justify their bigotry
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
I watched the Netflix special and they are so likeable as a couple. I feel so badly for how they have been treated.

Buck house is racist is what it comes down too. Instead of standing behind a member of the Royal family they completely threw him to the wolves so he was left with no other choice then to expose what they had done to them. Shame on them.
