Why isn't this news? 300 thousand kids trafficked by the biden admin
Glad you asked. It's because it never happened. But MAGA do not check, they regurgitate.
The claim that 300,000 migrant children disappeared under the Biden administration is inaccurate and misleading.
The figure comes from a misinterpretation of a 2024 Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Inspector General (OIG) report concerning unaccompanied migrant minors. While the report detailed serious record-keeping issues, it did not state that the children were missing or had disappeared.
The origin of the claim
The claim that 300,000 migrant children disappeared under the Biden administration stems from a specific August 2024 report from the DHS OIG. The report contained two key findings that have been mischaracterized:
Missing paperwork, not missing children. A total of 291,000 unaccompanied children who entered the U.S. between fiscal year 2019 and May 2024 were never served a Notice to Appear (NTA) for an immigration court date. Around half of this period occurred during the Trump administration. According to immigration experts, this is a "paperwork problem," not a "missing kids problem".
Missed court dates. The same report found that 32,000 unaccompanied children missed their immigration court dates between fiscal years 2019 and 2023.
The report did not specify which administration was in charge for the majority of these missed dates. Unanswered calls to sponsors do not mean a child is missing; experts note that they may not answer for a variety of reasons, including fear of government authorities.

@Northwest thanks for the clarity

They're not missing, they just aren't actively being tracked or sought out. The 300K figure comes from unserved Notice to Appear and missed court appearances, not from an actual failure to locate. They don't even have the manpower to go door to door and confirm this is how many are missing.
Their sponsors were vetted prior to any of these children being released into custody, and the vast majority of them ended up with family members anyway. We could very likely track them down if we truly wanted to, but this whole story is a media fabrication so there's no actual need.
So far the "attempts" to locate these children has just been different agencies making phone calls, with some of them going unanswered. And honestly, what kid is going to answer a call from a random unknown number these days? All this generation does is text

@kodiac He's not deflecting; he's stating the facts. He said that the claim that 300,000 migrant children disappeared under the Biden administration is inaccurate and misleading.
