Is fox news really news?

Or is it just a show that's anti Biden/democrat, pro Trump/Republican? That's about all they talk about, my dad watches it all the time n it drives me crazy if I'm over and it's on. Ive always heard that Fox is biased and lies, idk if it's true, I just find all politics annoying. I feel they're all crooks and liers. None are much worse/better than others

This may be TLDR, but hang in there with me. Consider the following chart graphically illustrating the 15 most watched shows in cable news as of January 2022:

What does that tell you? To be fair all news channels have some form of bias or another. I took three classes in journalism and used to write for my school newspaper. I noticed news outlets began moving from strictly reporting facts, to blending the news with entertainment, to using movie industry techniques that increase viewer interest, to journalism taking a back seat to "infotainment" style as it attracted more viewers and thus increased ratings. In retrospect, even newspapers in the 1700s printed questionable rumor-mill articles against opposing political figures way back then as well.

To get an idea of what side of the spectrum a report is trending, try going to Ground News (https://ground.news/find?url=https%3A%2F%2Fground.news%2F), paste an article's address, and view the results on the next page. For example, AP's take on "No letup in fighting as missile strikes keep hitting Ukraine" at:

https://apnews.com/article/russia-ukraine-donetsk-government-and-politics-a126c011a33e9134a95a31b24cea3c7a

...brings up the following page when pasting the above address at Ground News' page at...

Note the Bias Distribution of the article[/center]
You'll get a better understanding and be better informed about the article's political leanings. Hope this helps explain things.

@PatKirby Wasn't it Pulitzer that said if you provide the war, I'll provide the story?
And then the U.S. blew up one of its own ships, The Maine, and used it as an excuse to go to war with Spain and invade Cuba?
