Since Marthas Vineyard cant afford hospitality for 50 illegal immigrants, what zip code actually can afford any?

1+any number will get you somewhere in the USA. I am Democrat but I've watched illegal labor and seen what it does in the construction trades. They aren't doing work no one else wants to do. No one can afford to live on what those jobs generally pay. And don't think for a second that the Republicans really wanted a wall, that cheap labor works all over Trump towers and golf courses, Walmart and all phases of the trades.

@kentex35 thats complete phoney bagloney, construction jobs are middle class jobs.

@checkoutanytime I spent 45 years at it. I've framed house with two other guys that knew their trade and watch a crew of 11 to the house next to me. It took me four days to get a house ready for Cornish/outside trim and decking for shingles. They did one a day. They could afford to bid less but probably didn't and their crew may or may not have been getting paid minimum wage.
I live in Texas and was a union carpenter once but in a right to work state unions aren't really that strong. In fact there is no union in north Texas.
@kentex35 you wouldn't be a Democrat if you had. Theres a blatant difference between constructive progress, and destructive progress, which the democrats champion for 2 centuries now in this great nation .

@checkoutanytime The democrat party, bringing you insurrection since 1823

@checkoutanytime and it is a great nation isn't it? Didn't need no criminal telling us we had to make it great again. Never was less than great.
@kentex35 it was before globalization curroupted the national ideology. Now we have no security.

Where does the problem with immigrant labor really lay? Last time I checked, one needs documents to work anywhere and everywhere in the U.S. If there is a problem with illegal immigrants in a particular sector of the work force, then the problem is with the "owners" of these businesses, the ones doing the hiring in the construction trade you mentioned. The problem isn't the immigrant worker, he's just trying to feed his family. The problem is with the owners of the construction business hiring illegal's. And for what purpose? Cheap labor?
Just because you see a Mexican that doesn't speak English on the job site, doesn't automatically make him illegal.

@calicuz LOL, and if the border is closed like the bullschiffers say it is there would not be a problem at all, now would there be
calicuz · 51-55, M
@sunsporter1649

I'm Hispanic, born in America, so close the borders, build a wall, station troops at the border, I don't care, if you think that will solve the problem. But when you're paying 5 dollars for one Apple or waiting 3 extra months for your house to be built, because the Mexicans who work 14 hours a day to build homes and businesses, aren't there anymore, and you have to rely on American born workers who complain about work conditions and it's too hot or too cold to work outside, and all of a sudden everything in the construction sector is considered skilled labor, therefore no one wants to work even a full 8 hr day, then who will be the ones crying the loudest. It will be the ones who screamed about illegal's.

I thought we were having an intelligent conversation. That guy has never had a job in his life, and that's not who were talking about.

Oh well, I tried.
