why does greta thunberg always think she has to lecture us about climate change?

She was thrust onto the world stage by her parents and a media driven by narrative,. Her narrative fit their agenda so they covered her with breathless anticipation of her every word. Her being covered like she was has given her an importance more deserved than it should be, why have a scientist on when you can have an emotional teenager get weepy on how the sky is falling? All the attention also makes her believe people listen to her because of her knowledge not her usefulness as a tool to get attention, sad all around, especially when we found out she is autistic.

@FreeSpirit1 Scientists have been trying to raise alarm my entire life, even as the crisis got worse and worse. Why does it make people so mad when a teenager is telling people to listen to the scientists?
@QuixoticSoul Yes no one was talking about climate change untill Greta enlightened us all. You are admitting the point I made, and I was answering the question "why does she think she needs to lecture us all", because she was made to be the climate change spokesperson for it by her parents and the media..,I believe climate change is real by the way. And making a point doesn't mean I'm mad

@CopperCicada Who said she had no agency? Not me. She obviously believes what she believes but she was also championed by the media who liked her message and the messenger, look at the original question..why does she feel she need to lecture us, then look at my response. I haven't said she isn't correct I replied to why I think she feels the need to lecture us, it's called my opinion and it's mine not "people"

@QuixoticSoul I'm still waiting for those icebergs they told me were coming off Miami Beach, way back in 1959
@CopperCicada so you don't think the media had anything to do with her exposure? 15 year old girls get invited onto CNN to talk about climate change regularly?

@sunsporter1649 Poor sporty, read a bit of pop-sci in his youth and never recovered. Education is supposed to fix that sort of thing but you need a brain for that.

@CopperCicada So because you know someone who started a company my opinion on why Greta feels the need to lecture us is not correct?
That's fine my opinion is mine, you don't have to agree.😁

@FreeSpirit1 Has been there any evidence that she's manipulated by her parents in doing what she's doing, or is it just the umpteenth rightwing conspiracy?

No and in fact, there's every reason to believe she inspired them. But some people have narratives to push, or regurgitate.
@Elessar I didn't say manipulated, you did. The question is why she thinks she has to lecture us, I gave my answer.

@FreeSpirit1
She was thrust onto the world stage by her parents [...] people listen to her because of her knowledge not her usefulness as a tool to get attention, sad all around, especially when we found out she is autistic.
Would be called manipulation, at least in this part of the world.
@Elessar Parents allowing her to travel around the world is not manipulation it's "thrust" Are you going to argue with my description of how she gained notoriety or my point about why she thinks she needs to lecture us? CNN and Other Media companies put her on the air and covered her when she was 15years old therefore she thinks she has the education and authority to lecture us, I mean if all these media companies want the world to hear what she has to say then she must know something every one else doesn't, right? I never said she was manipulated, She definitely believes what she believes, but the attention she received gave her the notion that she can lecture us. If you don't agree with my answer that's fine.

@FreeSpirit1 Ah okay, then why stress that she's autistic?

I don't really care about the age when it comes to knowledge, to be frank Mozart at 15 knew about music better than me and you at our current ages. The world is full of 60/60/70/80+ imbeciles, it's not that knowledge and expertise come automatically and indissolubly with age. Not at all, actually. Plus, all the criticism I see is against her as a person, never the message, wonder why. You can be the last of the citizens or the Pope in person, if what you're saying stands on the ground of evidence it's worthy being listened to, if not, well, not. And last time I checked she wasn't pushing anything against observable reality.

CNN basically doesn't exist out of America, she receives the attention she receives worldwide. As I told you the other day, it's not that the whole world revolves around dumb American politics.
@Elessar I think you are just looking for an argument.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@FreeSpirit1 As opposed to trying to deflect one? ;)
@Elessar well when you start of with an assertion I never made it shows you are just trying to get in an argument, I pointed that out and you switched to CNN not being a thing in other parts of the world, even after I said
CNN and other media companies

You started off with an assumption which was wrong, you didn't read the whole thread you are replying to and you are trying to get me to argue about something you said, but I didnt...so yes I deflect and move on. You should just stop replying and do the same.
