I think people expect too much of the guy. He's a billionaire, which I don't hold against him, even though other people seem to. As others have pointed out, I'm pretty sure he has Asperger's or something.
Looking at some of his tweets, he's got a weird sense of humor that I don't share. He thought it was okay to upload a picture of Bill Gates with the caption, "In case anyone wanted to lose a boner." Stuff like that leads me to believe he has trouble differentiating between light teasing and outright bullying, which is why he got so upset when Twitter censored him.
He also seems to have a pretty bad temper when crossed, and this has led to at least one terrible decision (i.e., the attempted purchase of Twitter).
Now that I've got all of that out of the way, I actually still like the guy. Not for his personality, but for what he's trying to do for the world.

@LordShadowfire he thinks Bill Gates to be a fraud for betting half a billion against his tesla company. Calling him out on his philantopic movements, when he is betting against a company that works to a achieve a cleaner world.
