I find it endlessly amusing when fascist supporters make unsupported claims, then attempt to support their claims with name calling and insults.

One wonders, is that the sort of persuasive argument that works on them? Were I to refer to them as "MAGATS" or some such, would it cause them to respond positively and change their opinions? Are they treating me the way they wish to be treated?

The Golden Rule doesn't apply to those folks.

But before you dismiss them, remember that they're basically the next evolutionary step from Limbaugh's ditto heads, only they've devolved to emulate Trump's mendacity and contempt for knowledge and the rest of humanity.

Seriously, we could use a better class of amusements. In small doses, they may be amusing enough, but what they're doing to the country and the world puts the Vandals to shame.

You do see the irony of the content and tone of the start of this thread? 😳 @MistyCee

@jackjjackson The start of this thread is hardly the start of the conversation, but I do admire the commitment to denial you people bring to the table.

@MistyCee what’s being done to this country and by whom?

@jackjjackson I do see the irony, which is why I tried to add a little more content about mendacity and the golden rule.

But yeah, I see your point.
@Prison1203 Its the taking us backwards that I really object to.

We picked up a lot of stuff like like "do unto others", not bearing false witness, literacy, education, stepping out from feudalism, the 14th Amendment, Civil Rights Acts, labor laws, environmental protection, etc., that I'd like to see not thrown out unthinkingly.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
I imagine you’d include the first and second amendments to that list? @MistyCee
Prison1203 · 61-69, M
@MistyCee At what point has any of those things been thrown out? And how are we going backwards? Is it because you think progressivism is the way to go? That’s just another example of wokeness
@Prison1203 Whether it's progression or regression, i'd prefer it to be gradual so as to not cause major upheavals.

I dont want to defund the police, but I also dont want everyone with guns strapped on having shootouts in saloons or in the streets.

I'd like to see science and civics taught in public schools and religion, and when science is clear enough on things like polio and Covid vaccines, given the opportunity for debate, i'd p prefer that the religious beliefs of a few people don't allow the slaughter of others.
Prison1203 · 61-69, M
@MistyCee most of that sounds good, but the left attacks nearly all of that, I’d like to see the constitution adhered to the way it was supposed to be. I’d like to see liberals stop trying to circumvent the laws that the constitution provides us as Americans along with the amendments, but once again liberals only want to adhere to the ones that they want to follow, like the 1A, it’s only good for them when they want it but want to abolish it when they don’t like what the right has to say like they did when they put pressure on Zuckerberg to censor right wing views on his platform they tried it with Musk and X.

The Constitution was meant to be a dynamic living document, not worshiped as scripture.

Said the person who voted for the party which stacked the Supreme Court with fascist loyalists.
...like the 1A, it’s only good for them when they want it but want to abolish it when they don’t like what the right has to say...
Show me one instance in recent history of an American citizen being imprisoned for words they spoke or wrote. I shall wait.

Do you have interest in dumping the first and second amendments? @CorvusBlackthorne

Once again, YOU brought up the Constitution so since you brought it up I requested clarity. Your non response shows your preference of eliminating those amendments. @CorvusBlackthorne

The bibical fairytale says that people are supposed to obey their leaders.

Titus 3:1 (EASY) =
"Tell the believers there to respect the government and those who have authority. They must remember to obey their rulers. They must always be ready to help other people."

So, based on that passage there is no biblical religous basis for "believers" to claim any religious exemptions for not getting vaccinated if the government declares that everyone should get vaccinated to protect the heath of the general population.

If someone doesn't want to get vaccinated he should simply say so. But all religious claims should be tossed in the garbage can by the judges.

No. You created a straw man argument and asked if that was what I was stating. It was clearly intended to distract from the topic at hand.
Your non response shows your preference of eliminating those amendments.
Well, then. Since I asked at one point whether you were in favor of obliterating Ukraine, and you did not respond, I must assume you hate Ukrainians and wish to ethnically cleanse them.

Forward progress is always preferable.

If I have made an argument in error, please address it. Do not personally insult me because I am correct. You have already proven to be an irrational, heterosexist, fascist, and most likely racist, given the way you project. Shall I simply assume that every accusation of yours is a confession?

@jackjjackson In addition, sir, you lie about who first mentioned the Constitution. It was @Prison1203 who brought it up when he chose to whinge about persons being held accountable for violating the terms of service on social media sites. I simply pointed out that as no one was being imprisoned for offensive speech, the first amendment was not being violated.

You do not argue honestly or in good faith. You are intellectually dishonest, and expect others to simply forgive you for it. Then, when we call you on your behaviour, you resort to insults. And finally, when that fails, and you are utterly unable to win the debate with your various underhanded tactics, you block.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
I block no one Corv. No need to. Hotheads like you are more fun to mock and toy with. Sounds to me like you’re projecting and describing yourself. 🙄 @CorvusBlackthorne
