We've been so far down the rabbit hole that anything is possible

Somehow I think the Constitution and Laws of the United States of America too strong to allow such transgression.

The USA has basically only two parties; but even if the Republican Party wins the next general-election the nation will still need select a new President.

Yes, Donald John Trump thinks he's the only man capable of running the USA, even the world; and he petulantly disdains and tries to crush anything or anyone in his way. Yet he is no more immortal politically than he is physically.

In the end, only the Americans have any right to decide their own country's leader (and no right to decide any other country's), but that right is bolstered by a very strong, fairly simple constitutional system.

Looking at the report, Trump's pronoucements don't make sense even if you support the Republican ideology generally.

They cheated us on the second one because we won it three times, so I think I have the right to run again.”

No evidence for the allegation he still nurses. Grudges are unstatesmanly and destructive.
How does a political party win a single, specific election thrice?
"Thinking" that right is not good enough. Presidents should know their own nation's electoral law.

That was reported in Australia, a foreign, democratic ally prepared to work with either a Republican or Democrat- led USA. Sadly, Mr. Trump is making himself and his government an international laughing-stock but more seriously, his open naivety makes him a target for manipulation by tyrannies: bad for the USA and bad for democracy generally.

@ArishMell It's odd to think if Iran sent a hit team and killed him they would be considered heroes by millions of Americans.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@hunkalove Indeed! Though it would annoy Mr. Putin, and I appreciate there are also still a lot of Americans - some of them on this site - who think he can do no wrong.

A type of choice the Iranian government rejects and denies it own citizens.
Demented Donnie does have some “third” rights:

— He has the right to a third IMPEACHMENT

— He has the right to lose a third and much larger award regarding DEFAMATION TO E. JEAN CARROLL

— He does have the right to face prosecution for the third time at the the hands of a case investigated by SPECIAL COUNSEL JACK SMITH (and he could even have his staunch defender Missourian ERIC DUMS*H*I*T* defend him at trial!)
@Tastyfrzz Hmmmm…

You’re post is very intriguing…

Near the end of Demented Donnie’s first misadministration Melanoma seemingly disappeared and did not appear anywhere in public with the Apricot Antichrist nor issue any statements of any kind supporting him. Her staff was mute on her whereabouts or any details of what was going on.

Demented Donnie’s staff issued statements like she was spending time with “their” child (AKA Barron).

The chatter among the military was that she was divorcing him.

After she re-emerged, that chatter changed to she had re-written their pre-nup and forced him to agree to the re-write and sign it.

Now IF that’s correct and IF Melanoma has her own greedy lawyers, she MAY HAVE re-written that pre-nup to take the Orange Clown to the proverbial CLEANERS and leave him a pauper should he divorce her…
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
@KunsanVeteran why would she stay with him? Maybe when he dies she gets whatever is left?
@Tastyfrzz Well, that would be the argument: that he will continue to grift, steal, cheat, embezzle, etc. to increase his wealth and thus increase the value of her pre-nup…

He doesn't have a right to it but I'd sure vote for him if it was possible.
DearAmbellina2113 · 46-50, F
He openly stated how rich he's getting from high gas prices. Just blatantly said "it doesn't matter if the average person is struggling, we're making so much money!"
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@sunsporter1649 First: Let me applaud the fact that you rose to the challenge. Kudos!
However, just about everything you point to as good talking points, apart from being bad for Americans and the world at an environmental level, is also having a negative effect on Americas future as the world lifts its environmental game and moves toward cleaner technology, making America less competitive at every turn. As an aside this isnt just energy. Its also food standards such as fertilizer and pesticide residues and standards in meat production. But thats outside the scope of the question. You see relaxing these standards as a good thing. But the price America will pay into the future will make its products unsaleable and mean the country will end up the obly customer for its dirty, inefficient, out of date products.😷

@sunsporter1649 If you checked back on some of my posts, I sort of AM....The sooner the world moves on from Fossil fuels the better for everyone..😷
He has no plans to ever leave that office again. He looks like death is leaning on his shoulder now but should he live to 110 he'll be clinging to those White House doors.
@robingoodfellow …Hitler died in his bunker…

Ah, the dementia of an aspiring dictator at its finest.
I don’t doubt one bit that as a narcissist he does believe that.

But if it happens it’s time for another insurrection, a serious one from the left and anyone else who still supports democracy.

Because it means our Constitution has been affectively repealed and he really has become a dictator.

Some people collect stamps. Trump collects elections (and wars!) he believes he won.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@kdma1l

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has at least questioned, if not outright denied, the outcomes of the 2000, 2004, and 2016 presidential elections, as well as the 2018 Georgia gubernatorial election. She said that the Supreme Court “took away a presidency,” following the 2000 presidential election, in its ruling in Bush v. Gore. Clinton also repeatedly claimed that Trump was “an illegitimate president.”

Then-President Bill Clinton said regarding the 2000 presidential election, “The only way [Republicans] could win the election was to stop the voting in Florida.”

Former President Jimmy Carter said regarding the 2000 presidential election, “There is no doubt in my mind that Al Gore was elected president.” Concerning the 2016 presidential election, he said: “I think a full investigation would show that Trump didn’t actually win the election in 2016. He lost the election, and he was put into office because the Russians interfered on his behalf.”

Former Vice President Al Gore said of the 2000 presidential election, “I believe that if everyone in Florida who tried to vote had had his or her vote counted properly, that I would have won.”

President Joe Biden, when he was still vice president, said regarding Gore and the 2000 presidential election, “I think he won it, anyway.” During the 2020 presidential race, in response to a supporter calling Trump “an illegitimate president,” Biden asked if she’d be his vice presidential candidate and said he “absolutely agree[d]” with her.

When Vice President Kamala Harris was still a California senator, she said, “Let’s say this loud and clear: Without voter suppression, Stacey Abrams would be the governor of Georgia; Andrew Gillum is the governor of Florida.”

When former President Barack Obama was an Illinois senator, he said that “not every vote was being counted” in the 2000 presidential election.

John Kerry, now Biden’s special presidential envoy for climate, said following his defeat in the 2004 presidential election that “too many people were denied their right to vote; too many who tried to vote were intimidated.”

Stacey Abrams, who is again running as the Democratic nominee for governor in Georgia, said she would “not concede” the 2018 gubernatorial election in her state and that she “did win my election.”

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.), now the House Financial Services Committee chair, said in 2001 that she was objecting “to the fraudulent Florida electoral votes” in the 2000 presidential election and that she didn’t “care that [the objection] is not signed by a member of the Senate.” Gore, who was presiding over the joint session of Congress as president of the Senate, responded that “the rules do care.”

@KunsanVeteran If the Democrats take Congress next month Trump will die in prison. And you know that ain't gonna happen. He will cheat.
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
@hunkalove Some think he'll abdicate and get a pardon from Vance but I'm not sure that would protect him from rape charges.
@Tastyfrzz …or TREASON…

Bolsonaro in Brazil is also crying that the election there was fixed and should be overturned because he lost. It's a typical move from the right wing authoritarian playbook, when they realise intelligent people can see through their bullshit and refuse to vote for them.
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@Richard65 trump is so desperate to pretend that voter fraud is real and huge that he has offered a million dollars to anyone who gives information that leads to the arrest and conviction of anyone who commits that fraud.

I have a cunning plan 😀

Let me just check this… if I impersonate some-or-other voter and vote in that person’s name (which falls within the definition of voter fraud) and then turn myself in and am charged and convicted, I can be fined up to $10,000 and/or sentenced to five years in prison and I will be paid $1,000,000

Is that right?
Richard65 · M
@newjaninev2 great idea! 😄
