Interviewed on BBC Radio Four's news programme Today, this morning, an American analyst - not a politician - made two telling comments:

One was that President Trump does not plan policies but operates on impulse.

The other was that the war trying to prevent Iran from making a "weapon of mass destruction" (nuclear), has given Iran an alternative weapon of mass destruction (oil, the lack of).
