Did you hear that Trump figures he is physically capable of being an astronaut?

When Trump talked to the astronauts in the oval office one of the 'things he told them was that he is in such good shape he could be an astronaut. I agree with Trump he is in good shape - Trump is round and round is a good shape. But that doesn't mean he could be an astronaut. Cheers!

Who wants to be an astronaut?
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@emiliya There are hazards with varying degress of risk in almost any exploratory endeavour, but I don't think I could have been an astronaut.

And definitely would not want to be on any of Elon Musk's intended voyages!

I didn't watch the video. The idea that the awful deaths of seven people are fodder for mere YouTube entertainment does not impress me, and I wonder the undertaker's motive in making the video. Money, I suppose.

I fail to see the relevance of your video, particularly as it pertains to the subject of the OP's post.

@ArishMell My dad knew a guy who worked for NASA. The guy had wife who was always in a gown and never left their mansion.

It isn't natural. They probably were good people but did they ever stop and think, what the hell am I doing trying to get into space? Who do I think I am? It's space.

@swirlie Gibbon thinks you are a weirdo. He is right.

She is a mortician from Minnesota. Family business. Death is her job. What's wrong with that? Are you saying we can't talk about it?
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@emiliya I don't see what connection you are trying to make, but the OP, by Nanoose, simply pokes fun at Donald Trump's claim of being fit enough to be an astronaut.

Not whether anyone should become one, let alone the personal eccentricities of the agoraphobic wife of someone your Dad once knew.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@emiliya I'd expect her to be more professional. Seven people died in that accident, either directly in the explosion or when the Shuttle itself entered the sea. It does not need turning into
a mere video.

What does matter is what caused the tragedy, to minimise the risk of future repeats. Not how the people died or what happened to their bodies.

Same with any other loss of life involving man-made structures or adventures.

Respect the deceased and the bereaved, by finding why the accident or incident occurred not what happened to the dead.
emiliya · 26-30, F
@ArishMell The Joker would ask you, why so serious?

Of course people want to know what happened to the bodies. That is why they watch the video. You want to know.

They were stuck in a space vessel being thrown around in the sky. I wouldn't call that explosion. It is hitting the sea that killed them. Unlucky.

@emiliya
Tell Gibbon that he got blocked for a reason... and that reason isn't because he was way too smart.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@emiliya Unlucky. Hmm.

As for some "Joker" finding it not serious...

I don't find people being killed, anything but serious.

Oh, I know the Shuttle itself was not blown up, so the crew would have died when it fell into the sea, either by the impact or by drowning.

I still see no point in some undertaker trying to make a pontless YouTube video about their deaths. What would be far more useful is the cause of the disaster, which was traced to a failed fuel seal.
emiliya · 26-30, F
@ArishMell O rings don't have a mind. None of that stuff is to blame. We are to blame. The astronauts chose to go into a giant firework on a cold day and the seals couldn't expand to keep the fire in because of the cold.

But cold or no cold, there is always a risk when you board a massive firework that propels you to a place you were never meant to be. NASA can go to hell.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@emiliya OK _ you oppose manned Space flights.

Why, though? You've been very rude about it but not defined your objection.

At least your own country takes the credit for the very first!

@emiliya Who is this woman, emiliya?
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@sree251 According to her profile and other messages, a young Russian woman living in Russia, and very pro-Putin and anti-West. Well, if she criticised him on here the FSB would soon be after her!

She writes as if spokeswoman to SW for the Russian Federation. Given that nation's clamp-down on the Internet, which even some Russian newspapers are now beginning to question, she might actually be a staff social-media watcher in the Kremlin Press Office!

Her peurile insult about my age, nationality and "getting on her tits" are a bit out of character for her. She's usually above that level.

Note though that if asked a question, she is very likely to deflect it; though usually without childish insults. Instead, she is more adept than most people at question-dodging, responding rather as politicians and bureaucrats do when faced with probing questions on news and current-affairs radio programmes; reinforcing my suspicions.

You are talking about @emiliya? I was wanting to know who was that woman in the video.
