it seems odd for trump to want to attack venezuela,i understand stopping drugs, good diea, but stealing a oil tanker why?

Same reason they talk about illegal immigrants when most drugs that cross the border are brought in by US citizens. The drugs are just the excuse to engage in priorities they know won't be supported by the general public.
