@looking4thesun In April 1968, Biden underwent a medical examination which led to his classification as “1-Y.” This meant he was only eligible for military service in the event of a national emergency. This classification was attributed to his medical history of asthma as a teenager. In 2008, Biden’s Selective Service records were released. The records revealed that his deferments were first due to his educational pursuits and later due to health reasons.

@looking4thesun President Biden told graduating midshipmen at the Naval Academy Friday that he applied to the school in 1965 — but a quick check of his biography shows problems with the story.
Biden said he applied to Annapolis with a letter from then-Delaware Sen. J. Caleb Boggs, but the year he cited — 1965 — is the same year he graduated from the University of Delaware. The academy doesn’t offer graduate degrees.
