Oh, so stockmarkets matter again? 🙂
75 countries come to the table to negotiate tariffs that last week Trump declared to be "non-negotiable" 🤣
China flexed by threatening a coordinated sell-off of American bonds (which would raise the already eye-watering costs of debt repayment). Trump blinked and backed down. Simple as.
Moral of the story, don't give in the bullies (👍 🇨🇳 🇲🇽 🇨🇦 👍)
On the bright side, he lasted a few weeks longer than our PM Liz Truss in 2022 🤣

@SunshineGirl In a dramatic move Wednesday, President Donald Trump says he has authorized a 90-day pause in the higher tariffs for most countries he announced last week — while maintaining a 10% baseline tariff across the board.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told reporters, "It took great courage, great courage for him to stay the course until this moment," reiterating what he mentioned a week ago, "do not retaliate, and you will be rewarded."
The pause would not apply to China — on which Trump said he was raising the U.S. tariff to 125% because, unlike other countries, Bessent said, it was unwilling to make a deal.

China holds less than $800 billion in treasury securities. Hell, Musk already found that much in savings just eliminating waste and fraud. US treasury securities are the safest in the world...with increasing interest rates, China is selling them at a substantial discount.

You can't have it both ways, cupcake. A few days ago, you and the other communist ilk were cheering on economic destruction, pointing to the stock market as the indicator of Trump's evil. So, you'll get back on the bandwagon when it swings in the other direction, right?China flexed by threatening a coordinated sell-off of American bonds
And what happened? The Yuan crashed. Oops. I love the pseudo financial experts on the left talking about "the big bond sell off."China holds less than $800 billion in treasury securities. Erm, no he hasn't 🤣
Here's an idea 💡 Put Elon in charge of economic policy and see how his "achievements" stack up in the glare of the international markets 🤣 He may need a few lessons in elementary arithmetic (and telling the truth) first.
I am not cheering any of this chaos and would not wish it on my worst enemy. It is destroying real wealth and livelihoods.
