He's not that smart or that disciplined. The roll-out from the exhibit chart they displayed to the contradictory explanations of "the (fantasy) plan" from all the cronies:
1. "The tariffs are negotiable."
2. "The tariffs are non-negotiable."
3. "The tariffs will bring in huge volumes of money."
4. "The tariffs will encourage manufacturing to come back to American so nothing needs to be imported" (translation: no imports = no tariff revenue),
5. "Tariffs are not inflationary."
6. "Tariffs will cause prices to rise, but it's a necessary course correction."
7. "The downturn in the stock market doesn't matter. No one cares about day-to-day fluctuations."

... indicates they don't know what they are doing and are too stupid, meek, or cowardly (pick one or any) to tell Cry-Baby-trump what he doesn't want to hear.
