Here we go again, possibly...

With Trump threatening 200% tariffs on European wines and spirits, how long before a prohibition era type of smuggling takes place.... Weeks, months?

@BrandNewMan tbh I don't know what the current tariffs are on your wines or theirs, but I wouldn't believe anything Trump says
@Convivial Lol .. of course YOU wouldn't. There are independent sources that show EU tariffs on the US far out pace our tatiffs on their products

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_tariff_rate

https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2018/03/28/u-s-tariffs-vary-a-lot-but-the-highest-duties-tend-to-be-on-imported-clothing/

All you have to do is a little searching instead of calling Trump a liar with no proof. Not that hard to see we are largely seeing a lower rate applied bybthe U.S. on incoming goods than US made products face when exported.

Its why Barista is a more common job now than ever in our history.

He may change his mind if someone tells him wine is mostly a Blue States thing. Ain't like you're going to find any good wineries in Utah.
I need Campari, Vermouth and bubbly!

With so many domestic options, I don't think anything as big as the old bootleg activities will happen.

Or just buy American wine
