Wow well we need our people taken care of first. I think maybe he means let students keep educating themselves, but school should be more accessible.

@Lisafriend27 No. He means there are geniuses in OUR colleges and universities from all over the world. They are currently here on student visas, and when their visa expires, they are forced to return to their homes, in whatever country that might be.

The gold card give US corporations the option of head hunting among the genius foreign students, and offering the Gold Card, (an unlimited visa with a chance for US citizenship), as an incentive to come to work in the United States.

This would benefit US technology.

Great idea. US colleges and universities, especially noticeable at the grad school level have an abundance of foreign students who return to their country on graduation. Also some have adjunct professors who come to the US to teach a few years and return to their home country. Just based on what I know because of family and friends, the foreign students make up about 20% of graduate students in the US.

While on one level this may seem a a great way for the US to do its part in making the US a great global partner and neighbor, it also comes with a cost in that most graduate programs have pretty restricted enrollment numbers, so if a particular PhD or MS/MA program has 20 annual openings and accepts 20% or 4 students from China, it means that 4 US citizen applicants will be turned down.

There is also a great idea for attracting teachers and professors from other countries. We just went through the downside with a friend from India. Universities are unable to stretch themselves to offer tenure paths to non-citizens, and one year contracts means they can have the rug yanked from under them at the drop of a hat..

If we bring down the debt by half we will be in good shape. Scott Adams talked about this. There are not enough millionaires to wipe out the debt but if we can axe 1/3 of the debt and bring in talent and money from other places win win for us.

Even if it is the case, how is that bad compared to letting millions pour across the border that don't contribute to society, they just take

He certainly has better intent than the criminal Biden. Biden was bringing in anyone inclusive of criminals so use as Democrat voters. Trumps plan is to enhance the countries workforce. Wonder how the Libbie loons will try to twist this one.
WillaKissing · 56-60, M
The Democrats would rather pay for hotel stays to illegals increasing the debt and weighing the country down with dead weight.
4meAndyou · F
@WillaKissing And this would be bringing money IN to the government, as opposed to money bleeding OUT.
WillaKissing · 56-60, M
@4meAndyou I know I read that. And that is why the Democrats would not understand it.
