Am I getting senile or did Trump always chant lock her up in 2016?

During a resent Fox News interview Trump was asked about how he had famously said -‘lock her up’ in relation to Clinton - but did not jail her when he was president.
During his answer, Trump said he had decided that imprisoning Clinton would have been a terrible thing. Then he added: “I didn’t say - lock her up” but the people would all say - lock her up, lock her up. Cheers!

As I recall it, he would start the chant, not by chanting him self, but using those three words in a speech. The crowd did the actual chanting.

This was until after the election, when at one of his weird post election rallies some 6 months in the crowd started chanting and he said something like “No, we’re not going to do that now. It played well before the election, but we’re done with that now.”

The crowd fell into a weird confused silence.
