Guess who’s $175 million dollar bond might be worthless?

Donald J Trump. Trump’s surety bond was missing vital information typically included in bond fillings.
"There seem to be serious issues," said Bruce H. Lederman, an attorney who has filed many bonds in New York, including for a real estate developer challenging a judgment. Lederman said he was struck by "glaring errors" in the bond. "In all the years I've been doing this, you always have to have a certificate from the Department of Financial Services saying that you're licensed to issue a surety bond," he said, referring to the missing certificate of solvency under Section 1111 of New York Insurance Law.
Cheers!

The company that issued the bond has no experience in the bond market. They made their name with ninja car loans at sky high rates that made loan sharks blush...Now I'm not saying they are a front for someone with a Russian accent. But I am betting someone other than Trump has promised to make good on this if Trump doesnt (and we know he wont)..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman And in late breaking news, it seems the McKnight operation may not have the financial reserves to satisfy the bond if called on and may be rejected outright as the bond provider..More to come..😷
Wow. I can see now, Trump's pushing to delay the appellate court proceedings pending the lower court's ruling on whether the bond was deficient and then the appeal from the ruling that it was.

Which of course, makes almost no legal sense, but could be tied up very nicely with fresh allegations of mistreatment by the deep state/Lawfare Trump haters, who are worse than anything the country has ever seen ...
And Trump gets more time.
@Pitchblue I'm not 100% sure he'll get that much more time, at least past the hearing.

Take a look at this "bond." It's not just an insufficient bond, its actually not a surety bond at all as it doesn't even require Specialty to pay.

I didn't know New York law, but there's a doctrine in other states that if the security timely posted is no security at all, the debtor need not be given time to fix the problem.

@MistyCee But, wouldn't that be reasonable in this ongoing nightmare. This bond looks like yet another con.

Surely you're not suggesting that the ex prez has engaged in some form of mis-conduct? 😱
I am shocked, truly shocked!
Nanoose · 61-69, M
@Convivial I am suggesting that and please don’t call me Surely. Cheers!

@Nanoose one of my favourite movies... And it fits right in with the topic lol

After a rough week for his new social media Trump ranted on his Truth Social account Thursday about how great the platform is doing But Trump may have broken some Securities and Exchange Commission rules in the process. SEC laws prohibit the use of “manipulative and deceptive devices” to pump up stocks. Trump’s bragging in the face of heavy losses by his company could fall under that category, Trump critic George Conway tweeted Thursday afternoon. Cheers and happy weekend!

@Nanoose TDS
That's ok...the fraud case against him is an even bigger joke.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@BizSuitStacy You think the bond is fraudulent?
@sree251 I doubt it. Trump put up cash.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@BizSuitStacy It's sad that he had to do that. Any lesser citizen with no money would be steamrolled by the judge and his prosecutor pursuing ridiculous charges.
walabby · 61-69, M
How many days does he have left to post that bond? He might be running out of time?
Nanoose · 61-69, M
@walabby He posted the 175 million dollar bond a few days before the deadline and it has been a few days since so I think his time is already up. Cheers!

@Nanoose That bond has been rejected for, I think, three different reasons. I gather that he has been given even more time to get that sorted out, but even that must be getting close to running out.
