An Economic view of a Trump win in 2024

The Establishment journal "The Economist" has just announced Donald Trump as the most dangerous person on the planet.. And this is not a political briefing. I encourage everyone to read it. (MAGA people, get a grown up to help you with the long words and remember that there are other countries in the world than America)

I haven't read it yet, but there are many parallels with Germany in the 30s...

@whowasthatmaskedman

And after all that, they still believe an American politician can save them and this country. Not until the Establishment is brought down, will American Politics ever change.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@calicuz If only it were that simple..Simple fact is that America as a whole has been living beyond its means since the 70s and racking up debt, more recently faster and with less goodwill. The lifestyles of many Americans are going to change, and not in a good way.. Think Great Depression...😷
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@masterofyou I think every resident and citizen not serving time has the right AND OBLIGATION to vote.. And in a progressive tax system not only would there not be corporate bail outs, but the ricj would pay a lot more tax. After all. this in the country that made them rich.. And subsidies for big business and agriculture would stop cold. I'm not about a 5000 word manifesto. But you get the idea..The nation lives within its means from the top down..Call it trickle down austerity..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman We have a saying in this country: Never get into a pissing contest with a skunk, BOY.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@ChadJNSD Your personal hygiene habits are your business. But you could be right. I suppose its just my long history in education got me into the habit of trying to teach the semi literate who barely spoke English that the accident of birthright didnt get them a free pass. Old habits die hard..😷
SteelHands · 61-69, M
The place doesn't let you read it unless I register and like NYT, if they can't survive out here without participating in collecting email addresses for spammers idk what their problem is.

So why not just clip and paste a few of the main points of the article here.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@SteelHands Thats odd. I could read it. But there are other reports on the article from other sources. Google is your friend...😷

Dems are practically helping Trump into office if they don't tell Joe it's time to go.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@SW-User Maybe. But I am an economic rationalist. If sacrificing virgins to the sun god Raa got the best outcome for the greatest number of people, I would be in favour of it..So this is about the numbers...😷
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@metaldog Thats true. But some of us are "fckeder" than others.😷
AbbySvenz · F
The proper term is “more f_ckeded” 🧐@whowasthatmaskedman
@AbbySvenz haa yes!!
masterofyou · 70-79, M
Dangerous?? How so??
masterofyou · 70-79, M
@whowasthatmaskedman this country is a fact not an opinion..... And i asked your who should vote i never gave you an opinion , you just assumed....
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@masterofyou Very good. Are you aware that the Trump single term is responsible for 25% of that $33 Trillion? And strangrly enough I agree with you that America has not balanced a budget in decades and that will be what finally pulls the plug on your nation on the world stage. As for your other comment, please repeat the question. I cant make sense of it..😷
masterofyou · 70-79, M
@whowasthatmaskedman prove it .... i actually don't care about the world because we fight the world's wars most of the countries hate us and and we give them aid with with money we have to borrow and we have been doing that since i was born..... We fight their wars and our and our soldiers pay their lives for people that can't fight their own battles.... My country is a mess and it's time for this country spend more time on this country and less time on the world that hates America 🇺🇸 I'm done...

I dont believe anything the press or media says these days.
If they are saying this, it probably means that he is the most dangerous thing to the current administration.
@Adrift Perhaps you would Believe this. " Too Much and Never Enough, How My Family Created the World's Most Dangerous Man" Mary Trump, his niece.

@softspokenman yes I have heard about the dynamics with the family.
Death,Money, greed, entitlement the more money involved, the bigger the family dynamics.
But what did she gain from all this?
I'm not going to go out and buy her book nor am i going to watch her show.
@Adrift You have ''heard'' about the dynamics?
akindheart · 61-69, F
Trump is going to win the popular vote. You would have to be a complete moron to not see what has happened. The Dems overplayed their hand. now will he take office? Not if the Dems can help it. The US is being overtaken and if Trump doesn't get in, we are doomed.
PhilDeep · 51-55, M
Cool. Makes sense. There are copious well researched books full of warnings for people who want to look at facts and not get their knickers in a twist screaming fake news. Cultists.
If by some freak of nature trump sits in the oval office again his revenge would taste sweeter to him than eating humble pie served on a cold plate.

The u.s. deserves trump
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@SW-User Look, the planet will be fine. Of course, there may not be people in charge any more. 😷

@SW-User Better than the one that is in the Whitehouse now...

The economy from the last 7 years will suggest other wise but go off
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@SW-User I can see how you might believe this, as the whole focus of the US economy has been to give the appearance of function and normality since before Covid started. But thats much like serving meals on a plane which is hurtling into a Mountain. Its Americas station in the world and indebtedness to other nations, while selling off parts of the farm that produced anything that have bought you this appearance of normality..😷
