So I read a claim that Bragg is “stalling” Trump’s trial until January 2024

It was of course from a disreputable source, so I don’t buy it, but is it refutable? I mean, I imagine it’s just that the legal process, which neither I nor the vast majority of Americans understand, takes time, which broad ignorance Trump supporters would use to their advantage and say, “Oh yeah, likely story. How can you not see that this is a nakedly political witch hunt?”

Is there a more solid explanation?

It is a fact. Next hearing is dec 23 so it can drag through 24.

@MasterLee Trump could request a speedier trial if he wanted to, it’s his constitutional right.

@JPWhoo probably get dismissed long before

@MasterLee I’ve worked at all levels of government. Trust me, nothing gets accomplished in December.

@JPWhoo I hope you don’t actually believe that. Speedy subjective. Speedy as in relation to what time frame? I’ve seen homicides that didn’t go to trial for 5 years. Others in 2… They would consider December to be speedy

@Bill1372 New York State law says you can get a trial in six months time. That would be October. Nothing subjective about that.
