So I read a claim that Bragg is “stalling” Trump’s trial until January 2024

It was of course from a disreputable source, so I don’t buy it, but is it refutable? I mean, I imagine it’s just that the legal process, which neither I nor the vast majority of Americans understand, takes time, which broad ignorance Trump supporters would use to their advantage and say, “Oh yeah, likely story. How can you not see that this is a nakedly political witch hunt?”

Is there a more solid explanation?

Read where? The Constitution guarantees the right to a speedy trial. So, Trump's lawyers can ask for a speedy trial if they wish.

TexChik blocks me, and she is hardly a credible source. The judge can only act within Constitutional constraints. Trump can have his speedy trial if he wants to, but he's going to milk it for donations, and lie about it.

I very rarely block anyone, but when I do it’s most often because a Trump Supporter is obnoxious and makes comments that are inflammatory and lacking in substance. Consistently. But again, it’s very rare. I haven’t even taken the time to block Sunstroke yet. Well, not on this account anyway, haha.
