So I read a claim that Bragg is “stalling” Trump’s trial until January 2024

It was of course from a disreputable source, so I don’t buy it, but is it refutable? I mean, I imagine it’s just that the legal process, which neither I nor the vast majority of Americans understand, takes time, which broad ignorance Trump supporters would use to their advantage and say, “Oh yeah, likely story. How can you not see that this is a nakedly political witch hunt?”

Is there a more solid explanation?

Trump's response to every legal case is stall stall stall. He could have gone before Bragg's grand jury and testified for himself He could tell his lawyers to ask for an accelerated calendar. But he stalls as much as he can.

In another NY case, the Trump Org is being sued, by New York Attorney General Letitia James, for $250 million for multiple business frauds. Trump Org fought tooth and nail to avoid turning over millions of pages of business documents. They stalled, appealed, stalled more, appealed more, etc etc. Now they are asking for a delay because the evidence against them is over 1 million pages. Of their own documents!

I believe Trump declared his candidacy so early so he could claim all the cases against him are political. I believe Trump wants to push each case into election season and then claim it's all political.
