Will it be fair to call all Trump Supporters "Domestic Terrorists" Once he is convicted of Espionage?

I means thats where this is headed. So should we lock them all up and ship them to GITMO? A little waterboarding never hurt anyone, right?😷
butterflybaby75 · 46-50, F
They were domestic home-grown terrorists from Jan 6 2020 and have never been anything but.

Anyone who supports Trump's attempt to start a civil war over The Big Lie is an accessory to terrorism.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@butterflybaby75 I agree. But he really needs to be convicted to make supporting him illegal😷
Elessar · 26-30, M
@butterflybaby75 From long before Jan 6th..
His followers are domestic terrorists already; they’ve behaved as such and he encourages them now.
So it would be accurate regardless of how things go.
Dino11 · M
@bijouxbroussard I agree,
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@bijouxbroussard Trump classifying BLM as terrorists is not the same as the BLM leadership being convicted.😷
@whowasthatmaskedman And yet,on his say so that is how they are legally classified. If Trump is convicted it would indeed make sense for his followers to have the classification as both a terrorist organization and treason cell, based upon their own actions.
Elessar · 26-30, M

They do it already themselves, lmao
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Elessar And painting it all in star, stripes and red, white and Blue.😷
Elessar · 26-30, M
@whowasthatmaskedman Of course, fascism works like that
@Elessar Was going to post this but I see I don't have to. lol
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
No, but some of his Cult will undoubtedly turn violent and participate in acts of domestic terrorism. I think that;s one thing Trump counts on to keep himself out of jail -- the treat of violence from the fringe of his followers.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@ChipmunkErnie I agree. But I think he is wrong in that thinking..😷
It's fair to call them Domestic Terrorists now.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@BohemianBoo Agreed. But not the point. Any other foreign individual or organization convicted of trying to bring down or threaten the US and its people is denied aid comfort and support within America. The most famous being the Communist investigations in the 50s. Being a member, supporter or "fellow traveller" had severe legal consequences. Now personally I would be happy to see every last supporter locked away for the public good. But thats my personal opinion. What I am asking is shoulsnt this be the case under law if he is convicted?😷
EvilEmily · F
the thing i understand the least.. this guy is rich.. he has connections...
why on earth is none of the ultra conservative famous super skilled lawyer companies willing to take on his case....
its some quesionable skilled lawyers that make a terrible case.

so for the trump supporters.. is there a conspiracy going on that provides this man with terrible legal support ?
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@EvilEmily Those are really good questions. The thing is that while pushing the trappings of somewhat tasteless wealth, Trump is not actually really successful. Nor is he really well connected to the "right people" The Vandebilts and Rockefellers etc. He is also a rather sleazy character. A Wanabee at best. His bankruptcies, Law suits and scandals, the trophy wife (not from a well connected family) and the fact that he buys his friends all mean that any prestige law firm wont touch him. And the second tier hungrier firms fear they may not get paid and that trying to control him is a full time job they cant invest resources in. In short "Better Call Saul."😷
(Hypothetical) ' IF ' trumps coup had been more successful, Mike Pence Hanged in public, 25% or more of congress killed, would the republican party still be saying that trump is the leader of the party and be reinstated as president without an election?
@softspokenman if he does not go to jail. it could and will happen again.. mark
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@softspokenman No.. Trump would have been quietly disappeared and McConnell would be in charge now..😷
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
@softspokenman Good questions
Dino11 · M
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Sunday warned of “riots in the streets” if former President Trump is prosecuted for his handling of classified materials found when the FBI searched his Mar-a-Lago home.
Lindsey Graham well known for Country, Constitution, and conscience first before party, 'trump is being treated with a double standard not law, after that Clinton debacle' (No revenge intended of course) "They're just out to get him". I think that He sent a subtle message to the domestic terrorists, stand by and stand ready locked and loaded if trump is prosecuted. He also sent a subtle message to people who haven't bought a gun yet, you will need to protect yourself. I'm sure that Graham and the majority of republicans wouldn't want to see another civil war in the US. (Just my opinion)
@Dino11 Trump demands reinstatement as 'rightful' president or 'a new Election' immediately.

@softspokenman Sounds like a man who knows his time is up..😷
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Crazywaterspring I understand what you are saying.. But as much as all the Trumps screamed to "Lock her up" about Hillary, no one actually did lock her up. So it seems only right to hold to that standard here. She should be charged under the espionage provisions.. He is as guilty as Benedict Arnold, so that shouldnt be an issue. So my question is really, arent his supporters as guilty as the supporters of Bin Laden plotting to overthrow the United States? Donating to him becomes supporting a terrorist organisation...😷
Adrift · 61-69, F
Wow! So nice to know that ignorance, witch hunting and bigotry still exists.
RodionRomanovitch · 56-60, M
@Adrift Yep , it was on full display Jan6.
Adrift · 61-69, F
@RodionRomanovitch Funny I see it on both sides.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Adrift Thats quite true.. You dont get the best minds going into politics these days..😷
deadgerbil · 22-25
I hope he's actually convicted of something serious and that helps out an end to any '24 aspirations
Elessar · 26-30, M
@deadgerbil I'm not sure that he's that important for the cult, they'll elect someone else that could potentially be even worse.
zonavar68 · 51-55, M
They are domestic terrorists - pure and simple. Insurrenctionists. Treasonists. Political arsonists.

@SW-User Probably enough to lift the average IQ several points..😷
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
I think it's fair to call them that now.
RodionRomanovitch · 56-60, M
Minus a few congressmen , it would be fair to paint the entire GOP with that brush just as long as they remain in thrall to Trump and act in fear of his shock troops , i.e. 'the base'.
Extremists in the U.S. come in many different forms – white nationalists, anti-LGBTQ zealots, racist skinheads, neo-Confederates and more.ITS A LONG LIST. good reading tho

I rarely see Trump supporters speak like this, but many people that don’t support him do it all the time. Sad and hardly funny.
@Bluebirdsonmyshoulder So the calls for civil war are what, good ol bois having fun?
Corporations.
They're the ones terrorizing everything and everyone.
But conservatives like Capitalism.

Sorry, life is overrated.

Business beat us.
cycleman · 61-69, M
I just call them suckers!

And that from back in the 80's with his casino and seeing him Letterman.

Nothing will happen to him. He’s rich and famous and the public would f&@$! riot the streets.
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
Unless they break the law, no.
Being willfully ignorant is not against the law.
Jake966 · 56-60, M
If he is convicted
SW-User
It's already fair to call them that now, based on past events like the Capitol riot, and attacks on FBI offices.

If Lindsey Graham is correct in his self-fulfilling prophesy that Trump supporters will riot in the streets just if Trump is even prosecuted (never mind convicted), they will just be deepening their domestic terrorist hole. Lindsey is essentially encouraging them to do so.

Moreover, most US domestic terrorism has been conducted by the right wing. Timothy McVeigh and the Boogaloo killers were not leftists for instance.
