Hey Republicans, just because you're distancing yourself from Trump now doesnt get you off history's hook [I Think That Donald Trump Is Dangerous For This Country]

All your names have been recorded, and how you've enabled and protected and coddled him these last four years. Your descendants will know exactly where you stood at this time in history.

If you Americans are going to move past this and find unity, score settling and name calling will need to stop.

If you scar people for past bad choices, they won’t change, they’ll just feel victimised and justified.

@WintaTheAngle how is that name calling? Just stating a fact as I see it. History IS recording all this.
WintaTheAngle · 41-45, M
@sunnydaze I didn’t say it was. I’m saying an attitude that alienate 50% of a population for voting differently is not going to be a foundation for social progress. Regardless of how you vote.

@WintaTheAngle I was more so talking about the Republicans in Congress. Probably should have made that clear.
OggggO · 36-40, M
@WintaTheAngle An armed mob storming the fucking legislative building while the legislature in session is not "voting differently".
Lila15 · 22-25, F
@WintaTheAngle Does that apply to Republicans, too, or just Democrats?
WintaTheAngle · 41-45, M
@Lila15 Thats the whole point of my reply, everyone needs to just accept they need to work with people who previously made decisions they disagree with. Until then you are all locked in mindless retaliation.
OggggO · 36-40, M
@WintaTheAngle Storming the legislature while it is in session to achieve a violent overthrow of democracy is not merely "a decision we disagree with" and working with anyone who participated in it would be suicidally stupid on our part.
WintaTheAngle · 41-45, M
@OggggO Well then. I suppose you’re fucked. Because you’re not going anywhere and neither are they.
Lila15 · 22-25, F
@WintaTheAngle We are going to have to figure out how to deal with the 74 million people who voted for Trump, even if all of them aren't violent. But telling black people, young people, women, LGBTQ, immigrants, and people who aren't conservative Christians to sit down and shut up isn't going to work either.
OggggO · 36-40, M
@WintaTheAngle They’re going to prison.
@WintaTheAngle Germany didn't continue working with the nazi party. Why should Americans?
