While everybody else was tiptoeing around, walking on eggshells, talking about what an awful, horrible person Adolf Hitler was, Mel muthafuсkin' Brooks had the exact opposite idea.
Laugh at him. Mock him. Make him look ridiculous.
These days, if you dress like Hitler, everybody assumes it's to glorify him.
Why? Why can't it be for the purpose of making him look silly?
