A commentary on the sad state of current affairs.....

I like actress Jennifer Lawrence enjoy most of her movies, but when I read the interview with her in the current issue of Vogue magazine,I just rolled my eyes. The actress grew up in Kentucky and was rasied as a conservative by her parents. In her teenage years, when she started finding major success as an actress, she shifted her political viewpoint to an ultra-progressive stance. Now,according to the interview, she has purposely shut her parents out of her life due to their conservative politics;and she insists that famous pepole should essentially be REQIURED to make their political beliefs public knowledge. This is sad.Its not surprising that shed adopt progressive politics;everyone in Hollywood has to just to survive. But to reject and ostracize your parents due to their political views speaks to an intolerance that is as disturbing as it is unfair. And her idea that famous people have some sort of obligation to talk about politics is contrary to the idea of a free country.(Along with the 1st Amendment right to express your opinion is the right NOT to!)And I think that most pepole would find in more appealing for a famous person to shut up about such things these days! The whole thing is a sad commentary on the state of current affairs.

That girl is mostly box office poison. The last X-Men movies with her didn't do so well in the theaters.

@Barefooter25 I agree, most people here (Texas) dont go to the theaters anymore. Last time I went was this spring actually. We were at the farm and flew in to Amarillo to get a bunch of Sams groceries and we decided to eat at cute looking breakfast cafe place. While we were eating my husband looked up and saw a big theater sign next door that was promoting Top Gun 2. We shrugged and said what the heck and went to see it. I like the big screen, but I dont like the BS many of the actors try to force down our throats because of their notoriety.

@TexChik I went to see Top Gun:Maverick and I thought it was pretty good. Alot of movie goers liked it because it didn't have any type of woke agenda. The last good movie I saw in the theater was Elvis. But you are right about Hollywood and movies. Its been a very long time since I have seen an actual good movie. Most of entertainment today is only interested in showing their left wing agendas down our throats.
