Why is it sad? She was 96 and it was not unexpected!

@Wiseacre Do you not feel a loss when a part of your culture is destroyed? A part of your identity? Or structure of world outlook?
Wiseacre · F
@Gumba1000 not really, but it is not destroyed. We now have King Charles. IDC!

@Wiseacre I'll rephrase it and be more direct. It is sad because although not personally known by millions, she is so famous many people feel they know her. She has always been there as a binding force for our culture and is a symbol of our identity. Her identity cannot be replaced. Charles is not as famous just by virtue of being in her shadow. Of course if he lives long enough he will gain similar fame. However his reign will not be anywhere as long and will not gain as much fame. He does not have as nice a public image as she and will never be as well liked because of it. Hence a feeling of loss and of cultural identity.

Means nothing to me...I don't feel attached to any of it. Sorry to disappoint!

@Wiseacre You asked a question I was explaining something you didn't understand. I had no expectations of you
