Yes, I doubt we'll ever hear "God Save the Queen" again in our lifetimes.
England66 · 61-69, M

Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
I suspect Charles will only last ten years.
England66 · 61-69, M

Wiseacre · F
Why is it sad? She was 96 and it was not unexpected!
Gumba1000 · M
@Wiseacre I'll rephrase it and be more direct. It is sad because although not personally known by millions, she is so famous many people feel they know her. She has always been there as a binding force for our culture and is a symbol of our identity. Her identity cannot be replaced. Charles is not as famous just by virtue of being in her shadow. Of course if he lives long enough he will gain similar fame. However his reign will not be anywhere as long and will not gain as much fame. He does not have as nice a public image as she and will never be as well liked because of it. Hence a feeling of loss and of cultural identity.
Wiseacre · F
Means nothing to me...I don't feel attached to any of it. Sorry to disappoint!
Gumba1000 · M
@Wiseacre You asked a question I was explaining something you didn't understand. I had no expectations of you
AJ023 · M
Was a sad day of reckoning . Rest her soul my sweet queen .
AJ023 · M
So sad when a icon of so much sweetness has passed

@swirlie Yes you have assumed, twice. You assumed I have "no understanding of spiritual awarenesses" or "the monarchy of tiny islands and Commonwealth".

It is you that has no spiritual awareness. I tried to educate you on "saved" but because you're religiously uneducated (by the sound of it), you didn't understand my explanation. "Save" does not just mean from hurt or pain, it is from damnation. To be saved is to be lifted into heaven. The man you have picked on was commemorating the Queen. Expressing his emotion and sentiment of of death. You said you didn't understand why he'd say that after her death, I'm literally having to explain to you emotion and sentiment. You're emotionally blind to need such an explanation. You also failed to notice his name. And my country of origin. I'm English, we say how the language is used. Not the Commonwealth.
