So many here DO have kind hearts...Thank you

Thank you truly to all of you who have shown me compassion and support in these days of my dad entering hospice. It means SO much. I've been sad, mad and scared, daily.

He's only 72 and while that is a long life it makes me sad because he may have had several more years. And it makes me MAD he could not receive chemo, Bec when the cancer is an aggressive type, it wreaks havoc on the body as is, and chemo leads to infection and even death for many. We thought he could try to fight it with treatment but unfortunately he has the aggressive type of Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma. 😟

I'm spending each day holding his hand, watching a show for a few minutes, and remembering past memories. Now he's begun saying non sensical things. It's heartbreaking. But can still talk lightly every so often. I hope we get even a few more days together.Thank you again for you kind hearts, truly. ♥🫂🌸

Glad to see you're doing okay with it, and working through it. Talking definitely helps with the process.

My father got colon cancer about 3 years ago, and was able to stave it off, luckily. I was fairly hopeful that effective communication at the start was a significant contributor to the outcome (early detection, health system, and getting us evolved early), not only for ourselves but also for his well-being and treatment, which he handled well.

Just hang in there, and try to keep the positive jujus flowing. That's all that could be asked of you, as you continue moving forward. 😌

@Levenrack I'm glad your dad was able to treat it, that's such a relief. That's the part I'm having the most trouble with when I visit. Watching his skin get even more edema fluid daily, purple bruises, and I just think, I wish chemo could have been an option. But they were staunch that it generally will kill someone sooner with aggressive cancer, than the cancer naturally. But I'm letting him know we love him daily. I hope it means something. Ty again.
I am very sorry for the pain and suffering you are going through at this stage, at some stage we all go through this and it is not easy at all.

I am not a religious person but I did pray for my dad to pass away as he was in a lot of pain, within 10 mins he was gone and out of pain

@OriginalNedKelly I'm sorry to hear of your dad🙁 I think that's the only consolation I can find in the end right now, that he won't have to suffer daily. Ty for your words 🍀
i'm with you my dear...i went through that with both my parents. it's a very difficult time for you right now....but your heart will mend...i promise you that 🫂

@beermeplease I appreciate that friend. I am getting anxious wondering what my anxiety will be when he passes. I hope I can keep my knowledge that he did live a pretty long life and that he no longer has to be weak/fatigued and suffering daily. 🙁
@Baybreeze i truly believe your anxiety will be at ease. i have a bit of anxiety myself. my mom suffered from anxiety and depression all her life and was on meds for that for over 40 years. my parents loved each other very much. we were a close family. i was worried about my mom throughout my dads cancer and how he was dying. dad died at home. my mom wanted that. when he passed in bed of course there was the initial shock. but my mom handled it well. i thought it would have gone much worse given all her anxiety/depression issues. she handled it well and so will you....there is something natural about us that helps us mourn without the "busy" thoughts going through our mind...be close to your sister and other members of your family and you will get through this....i promise you will.

@beermeplease Ty so much for that. I can get heart palpitations if very nervous, so I fear that. It feels like you're going to die, Even though they're usually harmless caused from anxiety. I'm so glad you mom felt ok. Ty for lifting my spirit 🌹
