A day. A day that I can’t really pinpoint the true vibe of, but I can’t help but let the smiles and goodness within it win.
While running errands with the youngest, I remembered that it was getting awfully close to Shamrock Shake season just to check the app and sure enough…
Crazy how much my tastes have changed, but I ended up giving it to him because it was too sweet, which absolutely made his day.
But as I was holding my phone in my hand, he saw the screen and thought it would make a cool picture. He’s such a dork, but it made me proud he even thought that.
Then while shopping, he found something and what’s funny is I heard his laughter before I even saw him head towards me. His only word. “…why?”
It was a cool little errand trip, but unfortunately when we got back home I decided to check on my old girl of a cat who I fear won’t last the year. When I tried to turn her over…dead battery. It wasn’t the first time I’ve heard it from her…that “I’ve got nothing, man” attempt at a crank and inability to even unlock the tailgate to check for jumper cables.
Turns out our jumper cables are MIA, so I messaged the oldest to see if he had any. He was shocked he didn’t, but he said he’d hook me up a different way.
The kid brought a new battery and even installed it for me 🥹
As a thank you I threw a whole bunch of fried catfish and chicken tenders his way…and now we’re watching fishing videos that he’s educating us on.
I just don’t have the words for today, man. A random ass Wednesday turned into a day. A day, for sure 😌
If you ever have 10 minutes to burn, Brene Brown gives a wonderful speech about how ordinary moments, collected over time, make for an extraordinary life. I can't quite remember how she put it, but that was the gist. That's what your day reminds me of. Hope today is the same for you.
@Bexsy That’s what I was thinking. I love the car battery story. There’s something so amazing and inspiring about seeing your kids be the ones to figure out solutions and make problems go away.
