What positive reinforcements do you like from your partner?

Hmm.. He’s a really good listener though, empathizes, and asked me what I need or what he can do that would help.

Sometimes, if he can tell I’m in a blah mood he’ll suggest we out of the house to do something he knows I find refreshing like going to a museum or drawing in a café together. Sometimes it’s as simple as going out to eat at one of the places that serves my ‘happy foods’.

Sometimes he just.. hangs out mostly silently in proximity because.. I don’t get down on myself very often. If I am feeling down about myself, that means something very bad has happened, usually health stuff, that there’s nothing anyone can do/say to make it better. In those moments, all I can do is process, accept the awful thing, then dust myself off. It’s nice to not feel alone in the world anymore when that happens though.

I am a full people pleaser to my wife so any time she praises me for doing my chores or attending to her requests, it is a huge positive reinforcement for me. It also motivates me to provide even more service to her.

"Hmmm.... How can I make your situation all about me?"

"Thank you, the wife. You have restored my sense of continuity in the universe."

I've had this friend that one time I was pretty low and told me ten things about me that he appreciates. It was such a good loving way...

My partner’s high EQ helps a lot but he knows only his D or $$ helps when I really need a pick up

I don't have a partner but I the times that I've thought about having one, just knowing they're there and them being generally around seems like it would be a big pick me up. 🙂

She leaves me little notes around the house. Just cute little ones, like I love you are have a great day. I’m a lucky girl.
