Would YOU use these excuses to stay home from work?

I have to embalm and wrap my dead mother.

My mother is ill.

My wife/daughter is having her period so I have to stay home to help around the house.

I was bitten by a scorpion.

I have to stay home to make offerings to the gods to improve my health.

I have to fetch stones for the scribe.

I have to brew some beer.

(The above are all excuses to stay home from work discovered on a limestone ostracon listing workers in ancient Egypt and their reasons for staying home from work on certain dates.)

I am SO glad to be able to provide you with some new, (old), excuses...🤣🤣🤣

@DrWatson I noticed nobody else picked up on that one! 🤣🤣🤣 Did you know they found an ancient recipe for Egyptian beer, inscribed on a clay tablet? AND they put it into modern production!!! It's called Pharoah Ale!
