Two more sleeps until a baby rules the roost

The baby is coming home on Saturday!!! Provided nothing goes wrong between now and then, and she has to pass her car seat test. But all going well she’ll be home on Saturday. I can’t believe it! I knew it could be as soon as this weekend but I kind of expected it to be closer to next weekend. She’s just doing so well and they think she’s ready.

I’m anxious, excited, stressed, relieved. Especially because we won’t have to go to the hospital multiple times a day to be with her. It’s going to be so nice to have her home and close all the time.

We have a shortlist of names now and are aiming to have chosen one before we bring her home. I finally got myself sorted and ordered loads of baby stuff on Amazon today to be delivered tomorrow. We spent hundreds on a car seat and a whole sterilising/bottle warming/bottle set, baby wraps, swaddling blankets, video monitor. That’s barely scratched the surface with my list but at least she’ll have some stuff that she needs. We already got a new mattress for her even though she probably won’t sleep there much.

It’s not how we imagined we would have our first experience with a newborn baby but we are excited even if also very scared. She is only 4lb 8oz and she is very fussy.

We are going to make the most of two more normal ish sleeps before we probably never sleep again lol
