Two more sleeps until a baby rules the roost
The baby is coming home on Saturday!!! Provided nothing goes wrong between now and then, and she has to pass her car seat test. But all going well she鈥檒l be home on Saturday. I can鈥檛 believe it! I knew it could be as soon as this weekend but I kind of expected it to be closer to next weekend. She鈥檚 just doing so well and they think she鈥檚 ready.
I鈥檓 anxious, excited, stressed, relieved. Especially because we won鈥檛 have to go to the hospital multiple times a day to be with her. It鈥檚 going to be so nice to have her home and close all the time.
We have a shortlist of names now and are aiming to have chosen one before we bring her home. I finally got myself sorted and ordered loads of baby stuff on Amazon today to be delivered tomorrow. We spent hundreds on a car seat and a whole sterilising/bottle warming/bottle set, baby wraps, swaddling blankets, video monitor. That鈥檚 barely scratched the surface with my list but at least she鈥檒l have some stuff that she needs. We already got a new mattress for her even though she probably won鈥檛 sleep there much.
It鈥檚 not how we imagined we would have our first experience with a newborn baby but we are excited even if also very scared. She is only 4lb 8oz and she is very fussy.
We are going to make the most of two more normal ish sleeps before we probably never sleep again lol
