The only problem I see with the millionaire tax is that it should be a lot higher!

The average person earning minimum wage (federally $7.25 hourky in 2024) would earn $271.874 a week (before taxes) working 37.5 hours that would be a 30 minute lunch working an 8 hour shift. At full time 52 weeks a year thats only $14,137.5 the federal government expects a single adult to be able to live on yearly. Anyone making less than 14,600.00 doesnt qualify for a tax return at all. But a milluonaire is complaining about paying taxes?
I think people have two problems with understanding it:

1) They have NO number sense.

Example:
If you make $50k/yr, it'll take you 20 yrs to GROSS $1M.

At that rate, it'll take you 20 THOUSAND YEARS (about twice the distance into the future as we are from the last ice age) to GROSS $1G (a billion dollars).

Musk et al. increased their wealth--on paper--by BILLIONS just during the pandemic.

NO COMPARISON.

2) They actually think they'll get a huge magical gift of billions and they'll use THAT to reap all the benefits which current billionaires have set up for them.

RIIIIIIIIGHT!

A million isn’t a lot these days. Are you taking about someone who has a million in savings or make a million a year?
