You hit my button on this. Tax filings fit within my definition of "cruel and unusual" punishment inflicted on the people by the government.
I also do the taxes for a small partnership and a typical year has me filing 40 tax documents. The instructions for some documents are 100 plus pages long and practically every paragraph references another set of instructions.
Some instructions are so convoluted that even the IRS doesn't know what it says.
