Controversial thought (don’t come after me ples 🥹);

Women should be paid more by virtue because products or accessories targeted towards female audiences cost more 😭 like skincare, makeup, dresses, bags etc 😩

Now all my money has gone to the beauty brands 🫠
If women learnt to really love themselves all that crap would be worthless 😆

How to incentives companies to avoid hiring women 101
th3r0n · 41-45, M
People should be paid by their productivity

Being scammed by society into thinking you're ugly if you don't paint over your skin isn't a reason to be paid more
JimBeam · M
@th3r0n

There once was a TV commercial about hair dye.
It went something like this:

"Lighten your hair, or darken it. It will be you, but just better."

So if you choose to keep your hair color, you're a complete loser. lol
Graylight · 51-55, F
@th3r0n and if I need a computer for work i should buy my own?
th3r0n · 41-45, M
@Graylight depends what they're willing to pay you

Give and take

I have to have my own computer for some jobs I do, but they're usually less than 3 hours and usually over $100
No to mention the "pink tax" where the same product targeted at women is more expensive than the "male" version.
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@Pikachu Okay now, that's pretty unfair of the hotel.
@Casheyane
I think that's just at a store.
Google "pink tax" and you'll find many examples of this.
If that happened the price of those products would go up as well. I think boycotting those products until prices go down is a better strategy. Obvioiusly not including feminem hygeine products those should be almost given away for free anyway
@MartinTheFirst That's true someone has to be on the hook for it. If your country has any kind of social assistance you probably already pay for some people's tampons just give a couple extra cents and make them availible to everyone. No big deal.

believe it or not i have done this many times and it actually worked
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@MrBlueGuy Cents? If females are half of the population and use tampons and stuff every month it should add up to at least 4-5 bucks per month if every person pays for it together. That's not accounting for waste and many other factors.
Casheyane · 31-35, F
It think it isn't fair to say it's just us women. Some men spend a lot on self maintenance too.

It's something to do with the lifestyle we have. Men and women, elderlies and children. If we really want, we can live a simple life. But most of us who can afford things don't really want to keep the simple life. We always want better.

But makeup talk. What brands are those? I am not familiar with any of those. I tend to use Korean and Filipino made makeup. Also American and French beauty products. Are they good?

@Casheyane

I occasionally buy hair color for men as I can be a bit vain and besides, age discrimination is rampant. Especially during job interviews. Women have differing charms and are beautiful just as they are, especially from the inside.
MyNameIsHurl · 41-45, F
You don't have to buy all the crap that's targeted towards you
Elessar · 26-30, M
B*tch please, our stuff is expensive too

Lilymoon · F
Getting a haircut even costs more. 🤦‍♀️
Tracos · 51-55, M
Are you familiar with the so called Pink Tax?

Identical products are much more expensive if they are marketed towards women.

It's not that women need to be paid more, but women should not accept being exploited by these pricing tactics
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@Tracos so women should chose to not buy those products. that is a private company marketing issue. not a society financial issue
Ontheroad · M
You have a point. I got a haircut the other day and paid, tip included, $27.00... the woman next to me got her hair trimmed and paid nearly double before the tip. It may have taken 5 minutes longer to trim her hair, but that sure doesn't make up the difference in cost.
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
absolutely not. makeup and moisturizer are not necessities or reasonable cause to be paid more. that is ridiculous
deadgerbil · 26-30
I wonder if people boycotted that crap, if companies would wake up and lower the inflated prices
I haven’t worn make up in years. My skin is better for it.

I will buy women's products only if they are better. Sometimes men's products are better sometimes women's products are better. And then their is the pink tax to worry about.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
Boys spend more money on toys!
JaggedLittlePill · 46-50, F
We are literally charged more for the pink packaging. Or the frilly flowery packaging.

Dont buy anything that is changed to have pink breast cancer packaging because that money does not help women with breast cancer.

But yea. The best course of action is to buy products from companies that have made it a point to skirt the pretty packaging etc.

I think I'd rather things like menstrual cups, tampons, etc be covered and free for us. Since we need them

And contraceptives
