Should Liberals Support the 2nd Amendment?
Think about it, if those crazy right wing nuts do take over, they might come to appreciate that particular right...! Jus sayin'

The demographics don’t support American liberals being against the 2nd amendment.
About 44% of American republicans/republican leaning report personally owning a gun, and about 20% of democrats/democrat leaning report owning a gun.
So there are 2X as many Republican gun owners as Democrats. That statistic stays about the same if you include family members reporting a gun in the house owned by somebody else. And it is the same if one just looks at just party members and not independents that report leaning one way or the other.

@CopperCicada @CopperCicada Remember trump getting his ass kicked in 2020?? The deal was Trump had rallies so it LOOKED like soooooooooo many Republicans loved trump Biden didn't have a chance........because Biden didn't have rallies...so no one knew how many supporters he had. But it didn't happen. Why? Because while the radical trumpers are acting radical.......both parties aren't radical. Dems just sat quietly and waited......then they voted. No hats or flags or parades.
What you overlook is the same with guns. As you say........from stats of people REPORTING they have guns. That is key. EVERY radical has to have an AR on a sling or pistol on their hip when they go Walmart or the grocery store. So those are the people who brag about carrying/owning guns. Those are the outfront NRA flag wavers. They are EXPECTED to brag about gun ownership.......but do Dems.....just as many........quietly own guns and think that is their business and they don't have to prove anything by having 2 of them on them at least just to go to gas station?????
I don't know one single Dem that don't have guns........at least one. That's not an empty claim. I seriously don't know a Dem that don't own a gun.........and some like myself dozens of them. Facts like the one you gave is just like election polling. Just as skewed as the audience you ask.

@anythingoes477 Sure. Polls are whacked. The numbers I give are from a Pew Foundation poll. A good chance people over/under report because of what they feel are social/political obligations and expectations.
I'm in the deep south, and it's really not been a thing. Our former Governor Lawton Chiles was an avid hunter. Would campaign wearing his own coon skin hat and jacket. Most people I know have a gun as far as they need it as a tool. Got wild pigs? Hunt venison? Have to do cash drop off's at night? Close your store? Not a political confession. Pragmatism.

@CopperCicada I carry 24/7 for money reasons..banking. But I do not feel like I have to hang a Bunt Line Special on my hip so everyone notices how long my barrel is. ;-) Concealed carry means just that...........conceal it and go on with life. It's protection for business reasons...not a status symbol.
