This country doesn't hate socialism. They practice it every day, for the rich. Corporations get bailouts. Banks get protection. Oil companies get subs

subsidies.
Defense contractors get guaranteed profit.
THAT is socialism. They just don't want to share it with the poor. They're not anti-socialist. They're anti-working-class.

Thinking outside the box. Canada has recently announced a new direction in defence spending. One that prioritises Canadian companies and industries and Canadian jobs and skills. As this means that in some cases the easier and cheaper foreign buy decision will be overlooked, this also has Socialist implications. A decision made for the longer term public good. Socialism is many things. But it is not evil. Its the lack of public good that makes it so..😷

@VladG94 Like I said, you dont know me..And I am not going to waste my energy trying to educate anyone who thinks there is one way to solve a human problem. You handicapped yourself at the gate.. You dont understand the limitations of Capitalism, or the dire consequences of not regulating it. But that may be the very consequence of the Capitalist based education you got. Either way. Not my problem. Subject closed...🤚

@whowasthatmaskedman And you don't understand the limitations of socialism because you're on the area of argument for socialism because it sounds good to you and I have my own argument against socialism because it means that it doesn't work, but those whom actually live by words are going to have a soft spot for socialism in their hearts because it sounds so good to them, but once you learn really hard facts really deeply about how you socialism operates in a practical way, then you will start to realize that socialism is a disappointment if not a disaster to be honest!!!! Anyways, either way, not my problem, subject closed!!!! ✋🏻

I do not support it either but what you allege there is not "socialism", but hard-line capitalism.

A hard-line socialist state is pro-"working class", on the whole; and would likely control those institutions at national level, or even nationalise them.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@ArishMell It isnt necessary to own or control. It is easier to regulate in some instances to protect workers and the community. And to tax to make sure the company contributes to the community that provides the workforce and infrastructure. Win Win..In the long term..😷
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@whowasthatmaskedman Oh, I agree to a large extent. I think we went wrong in the UK by not keeping sufficient control on who does own it, and how they operate it.

Not only tax to help the community but also regulations to protect the workforce.

@ArishMell I agree on all points. There are a dozen ways to get it right. The thing they all have in common is the power is in equilibrium, between Capital and people (usually represented by the government.) If it goes out of balance on either side it cant continue to function for long..😷

Yeah, we should shut all those companies down, shutter the doors, that will teach 'em
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@newjaninev2 What evidence?
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@sunsporter1649 This is just another interaction that proofs my point... when you die, the average IQ of humanity will jump up with 2 full points. After this post, I might have underrated how many points it will pop up.

@Kwek00 Keep on bloviating, it's quite amusing
