The Soviet Union might not exist anymore and did not manage to meet its own expectations and aspirations but I still believe in a society based on science, exploration and community. One that is free from the shackles of Capitalism.

Capitalism is an economic system. Communism is a political doctrine.

The former lifts people who contribute to society from poverty, the latter places everybody in the government into a privileged class and the masses into slavery. With an added caviate. The belief that your slavery will end if enough people who disagree get murdered by the privileged class

@Emosaur these guys do not understand the difference between calling yourself something as an aspirational goal and being that thing.

The Soviets and Chinese aspired to communism but never reached it. They got stuck in the authoritarian phase that they claimed was necessary to shift production from private to public ownership and then failed to progress. The next steps were to begin shrinking the power of the state and empowering the working class, but they never got there.

People will never understand that these nations were not failed by communism. That it was the nations that failed to reach communism.
