@basilfawlty89 i think it'll be a Universal given - anywhere on the planet - that if criminals will abide by gun controls, then you may have an argument for banning guns - that won't happen because criminals won't abide by the/that Law, that is why they're called criminals ... it's not rocket science

Fully more than half of all gun deaths are attributable to reasons other than murder and half of those were perpetrated by known people to the victim. Domestics and turf wars. This has been repeated in numerous settings and research platforms. The owner of a firearm is more likely to be killed by that firearm. The fact is, guns are deadly tools, hence they need to get regulated like any other deadly weapon. You wouldn't advocate that every country should have a nuclear weapon, why should every person have a gun?
@BigGuy2 Rather than "banning all guns," would you be willing to ban the weapons used in these mass killings? why doe any citizen "need" such a weapon designed to kill?

@BigGuy2 would you back a requirement that all guns must be secured? handguns in safe boxes, etc.? How about requiring a training course and obtaining a license, just like driving a car?

@BigGuy2 there is nothing to explain. There are no such requirements in the US. All efforts to require such have been blocked by those who defend their perceived unbridled right to possess whatever weapons they desire. I actually had a grant to distribute gun lock-boxes to anyone requesting one, no questions asked. I was blocked From doing so. We eventually worked out a plan with a local police chief, to have him give such a box to every new issuance of a carry permit. We discovered at that time, that a high percentage of police had their weapons unsecured at home!
