Gun control in perspective

1 - Eleven teens die each day because of texting while driving. Maybe it's time to raise the age of Smart Phone ownership to 21.

2 - If gun control laws actually worked, Chicago would be Mayberry, USA.

3 - The Second Amendment makes more women equal than the entire feminist movement.

4 - Legal gun owners have 300 million guns and probably a trillion rounds of ammo. Seriously, folks, if we were the problem, you'd know it.

5 - When JFK was killed, nobody blamed the rifle.

6 - The NRA (National Rifle Association) murders 0 people and receives ($$$$ 0) nothing in government funds. Planned Parenthood kills 350,000 babies every year and receives $500,000,000 in tax dollars annually.

7 - I have no problem with vigorous background checks when it comes to firearms. While we're at it, let's do the same when it comes to immigration, Voter I.D., and candidates running for office.

8 - Folks keep talking about another Civil War. One side knows how to shoot and probably has a trillion rounds. The other side has crying closets and is confused about which bathroom to use. How do you think that would work out?

9 A man who left 300,000 guns for the Taliban is lecturing folks on gun control.

There’s more logic and common sense expressed here than probably anything you have seen on the news today

As of about 3 years ago it was 12 trillion rounds

Everyone I know makes their own ammo

Crazy how someone dies from a car and you blame the phone.
@MasterLee oh dont get me started on the medical system !
Ours is starting to fall apart here. We are seeing evidence of it becoming like Americas, the insured get preference and priority, getting an appointment means you need to be on a list ...blah blah blah .
it was never like that here before.

@OogieBoogie

Nowhere else has regular school shootings and other such frequent horrific occurrences.😞

Such frequent 🙄? The number of mass school shootings here since 1966 is....12

Hysterical, emotive frenzy does not an argument make

@MasterLee Ban cars and reorganize the medical industry.
More perspective:

Here is a table from the FBI's Uniform Crime Report database from 2019. Notice the number of homicides with rifles vs. blunt objects. The evil AR-15, the rifle designed to mow down nuns and orphans, is a subset of all rifle murders. Less than 100 people are killed with AR-15s every year. You're 4 times more likely to be bludgeoned with a hammer or baseball bat.

IF gun control worked?
*an australian smiles.....😏*

@Prison1203 Moreso a lack of a law than a specific law. Only a few states require citizens to have a license to buy a firearm; anywhere else in the US, you can just purchase one willy-nilly as long as you're not a minor and haven't committed a felony yet. A lot of bad guys fit into those two categories.
Prison1203 · 61-69, M
@BlueVeins hey dumb guy, they all have to have back ground checks, perhaps you should stay out of discussions when you know nothing about the laws, there are over 26,000 laws on the books, how many more do we need? The cities with the highest gun violence have the most strict laws, now, tell me what laws are going to stop criminals from getting guns and committing crimes and or murder or shootings?

I can go out to the store, buy a dozen rifles today, scratch off the serial number, sell them to criminals, and then do it again tomorrow, and law enforcement will be none the wiser

1000 % lie

Egregious mendacity hardly helps what you call an argument

I wish they'd put this and the supporting data on loop in the main stream media. Maybe someday it would cure a few folks of their brain washing.

@SlaveEt They don't want to lose their brainwashing - it's their entire identity

Biden also gave some of the weapons ear marked for the Ukraine to Iran.

You’re spot on!

I think 11 dying texting while driving is very conservative unless yo are speaking of just one state. And if you add in how many are killed by texting teen drivers that number would be greatly increased.
