In my opinion its an attitude, the 2nd amendment is far to high up on the chain than it should be, this just goes with the other rational options that have also been mentioned here
I know Canada and the rest of the world look at guns way differently in general
@fortycreek You may be correct in your statement as to how Canada and the rest of the world look at guns. That may be partially true because not everyone’s opinions on guns is necessarily the same. As I posted a bit earlier, gun violence knows no border(s). And when you see reports like this, the way how the rest of the world looks at guns, it doesn’t really change situations such as this.[image deleted]

@soar2newhighs shit does go bad here like anywhere else in the world, every mass shooting in Canada hits the news and is rare, i saw a report that almost 2 happen everyday in the US
@fortycreek The “ mass shootings” ( which is 4 or more shot) does occur often in the U.S. Tragically the ones that happen and have to be reported are school shootings and mass fatality shootings.
There are blood baths in our major cities and that’s on the heads of elected officials. They are feckless and impotent. Those for political expediency are swept under the rug.
It’s as I told my Canadian friend. In a country of 300+ million vs. 38 or 39 million, there will be more shootings in the U.S. I also told him years back, that what was and still is going on in the U.S. in many areas was Canada bound. And it’s not the “ dream” you’re living, it’s the growing nightmare that will take hold in your country, sad to say. That in part is because of a shared contiguous land border. The West and East of Canada/U.S. is pretty much controlled. It’s that mass of land between that should be of great concern. Why? Because and this is my personal belief…those flooding into the U.S. will eventually seek more, and yes they will look to Canada. Something to think about. And though this may sound inappropriate, they will bring their many cultural aspects with them.
It’s a new world we’re living in.

@soar2newhighs I hope you are incorrect, i just think its a shame that this is a real discussion in 2022, all I know if people dont try and make a change, it will never improve
@fortycreek With no disrespect intended, as I’ve got and had great Canadian friends who were and are influencers in my life, so my comments are not intended to be divisive or offensive. That said I believe the hundreds of thousands who’ve come here under the acceptance of our government (IMO) for political purposes, will eventually tire and once having gotten a taste of a country where their “ better lives” will wane, they will if not already, eye up your country as the next stop for a “ better life”.
To give an example as to how messed up this is, in Texas where illegals flood and cross our borders, pretty much encouraged and just let into the country, they’re being put on buses and sent to Washington DC and NYC as per the Governor of Texas, and the respective mayors of those “ sanctuary” cities all of a sudden despite touting how they are sanctuary cities, are not happy. It’s the NIMBY syndrome. It’s a flood they can’t deal with but are stuck with.
It won’t happen tomorrow but I believe it will. Be ready!

@soar2newhighs no offense taken at all, i will commend you actually, especially here where so many get offended and block over a different opinion
