Which one is more deadlier?
badminton · 61-69, MVIP
@BeachGirl47 The bottom one. An AR-15 clone with a 30-round mag is way deadlier than a Ruger 10/22.
summerwind · 41-45, F
@BeachGirl47 one with the man dtanding behind it

@BeachGirl47 I am inclined to agree with @badminton. No one needs a 30 round clip in order to hunt animals or shoot an intruder.
BeachGirl47 · 26-30, F
@CorvusBlackthorne ok. I agree that you don't need 30 rounds to hunt. But do you agree that defending your home and family with a gun is ok?
Freeranger · M
@BeachGirl47 Don't expect positive results.....the rest of us who either worked with "guns" in the military, or who've grown up and kept them responsibly get it. We can do nothing about society's misfits, and when they attempt to commit acts of terror, there needs to be established protocols in place. IF that door is never propped open by an educator....are we still looking through the same lens regarding this devastating tragedy? If there is an active and patrolling Resource Officer, are we still experiencing a tragedy? IF educators have had it driven in to them to be eternally vigilant EVERY day of school checking their areas of responsibility making sure that ALL doors are secured EVERY day with NO exceptions, are we still looking at the same tragedy?

Before I transferred to the classroom as a teacher's aide, I was the security officer for the high school in our local district. I had an office with up to date monitors, a bank of security camera's installed in access/egress areas, I actively patrolled, and I kept everything......every door locked and secured. There was only ONE way in. Our staff knew the drill and what was expected of them, and Columbine having just happened, they were very receptive. They felt secure in the building, and they felt secure in their classrooms because we had a response team with walkies to deal with student issues within, and due to technology the ability to both see and assess any threat from without the facility. They collectively knew support and response was at hand and, we rec'd threats, but that's what staff meetings, support and protocols in place were about. Protecting our city of kids until our police force could respond.

Stop playing your blame cards asshats. You look ignorant for unleashing your pointed fingers. Until YOU have been on the receiving end of a weapon you don't know jack.
CorvusBlackthorne · 100+, M
@BeachGirl47 I do not see why you need 30 bullets to stop an intruder.

@Freeranger
You are a liar.

Lie #1:
We can do nothing about society's misfits...
Mental health professionals could be hired to evaluate young people. Passing red flag laws to prevent such misfits from purchasing rifles with ludicrously large clips would also help.

Lie #2:
Stop playing your blame cards asshats. You look ignorant for unleashing your pointed fingers.
Do you know the frequency of mass shootings in countries where handguns and certain rifles are much more difficult to acquire? The answer may enrage you.

Lie #3:
Until YOU have been on the receiving end of a weapon you don't know jack.
BeachGirl47 · 26-30, F
@Freeranger I'm am not pointing fingers or blaming anyone. Your office seems like something all schools need.
CorvusBlackthorne · 100+, M
@BeachGirl47 It would be a good start.
BeachGirl47 · 26-30, F
@CorvusBlackthorne An intruder walks into a home with a gun capable of holding 30 rounds and my gun holds one. Who is at the advantage. Yes criminals will not obey the law.
CorvusBlackthorne · 100+, M
@BeachGirl47 Ah, that old saw. If 30-round clips are unavailable through legal means, both legal and illegal sellers of weapons will find it more difficult to acquire them. You forget, my dear, that even illegally obtained weaponry mostly comes from a legal source at some point down the line. Illegally made guns and clips are quite another story, I know, but they still make up a small percentage. Much like a tin can in the backyard after a day's target practice, your argument does not hold water.
BeachGirl47 · 26-30, F
@CorvusBlackthorne so I asked which one in the picture is deadlier.
Freeranger · M
@CorvusBlackthorne Clips? What's a clip? I know what magazine's are.....I certainly know what 30 rounders are.
What you don't like is the way that "old saw" slices thru your lame rhetoric. If you knew anything about gun ownership, and those of us who responsibly OWN them, you'd understand that we do all things above board. Every weapon we've EVER owned has gone through a national date base and background check. You DO NOT take home a weapon unless you clear it. If I wanted to, I could potentially buy a WWII tank. Do I want one? Nope. But.....if I can pass through the register, I could buy one. Checks and balances are already in place.
Since you're offering so much intelligence on the subject at hand, I'd like to hear you expound on those "illegally made guns." What guns are we talking about? If they're being made the Feds already know about them. Which countries are we talking about......U.S.? Canada? England? Russia? Croatia?......where exactly, and how are they being distributed since you're making the claim.
You're a knee-jerk generalist hoping to throw something against the wall so it sticks.
Go do some damn homework bub and then return with a more cogent, intelligent set of dynamics. This type of shit impresses no one and leaves you being chucked on to the dumb-ass-trying-to-sound-knowledgeable-pile.
badminton · 61-69, MVIP
@Freeranger Clip is a common slang word for magazines. Like "automatic" is common slang for a semi-auto, or auto-loading pistol.
CorvusBlackthorne · 100+, M
@BeachGirl47
so I asked which one in the picture is deadlier.
And I told you, it was the one with the larger clip for easier mass shootings.

@Freeranger
Clips? What's a clip? I know what magazine's are.....I certainly know what 30 rounders are.
And you know full well that the word clip is another word for a magazine. There is no need for sarcasm.
If you knew anything about gun ownership, and those of us who responsibly OWN them, you'd understand that we do all things above board.
Then you would have no problem with background checks, gun safety classes, psychological evaluations, etc. I should think that common sense laws would also take into account the amount of time you have owned a firearm without having the sudden urge to walk into an elementary school with it.
Since you're offering so much intelligence on the subject at hand, I'd like to hear you expound on those "illegally made guns." What guns are we talking about? If they're being made the Feds already know about them.
Are you suggesting, then, that banning certain firearms is effective in removing them from general use? I tend to agree. However, there are those individuals who are 3D printing guns at home and selling them. These are the so-called "ghost guns" of which you may have heard. You are, however, quite correct that the federal government knows of them, but the problem is that if the gun is only 80% assembled, it may be legally sold without a serial number under current law.
You're a knee-jerk generalist hoping to throw something against the wall so it sticks.
Am I?
Freeranger · M
@CorvusBlackthorne Dude....you're an uninformed putz bent on name building. I get it.
CorvusBlackthorne · 100+, M
@Freeranger I just proved that I know more about illegally manufactured firearms than you, as well as knowing more about terminology. At this stage, you are only fooling yourself.
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@Freeranger That school sounds remarkably like a prison, or at best a fortress under siege. No way to live unless there is absolutely no alternative.
